I did hear back from Gary, but most of the e-mail was about the other subject I wanted to discuss with him.

He did say that if you wanted another pack of Stupice seeds that would be fine, but when I respond to him I want to link to this thread so he can see the pictures to see if it resembles any cherry tomato he offers.

And yes, it could still be the result of a cross, but being PL, if it is, that makes it less probable unless Stupice crossed with another PL that was small fruited, which is possible, but less probable.

Can you confirm for me that the foliage of the nipple one is PL as are the true Stupice plants from seeds in the same pack from Tomatofest?

And how many plants did you put out and how many were true Stupice and was it just the one plant with the cherry sized fruits?

Thanks.

I'm not worried about another pack of Stupice seeds....thanks for the offer though!

I started the entire pack, but only one went in my garden and it is producing true Stupice plants...very prolific, great flavor. The rest of the plants went to friends, family and customers. The only plant that I have heard of that is producing this is one I gave to my mother.

As you can see from the first pic with the green fruit...the leaves are potato leaf...at least from what I know about potato leaf...no lobes, heart shaped.

At any rate...even without a name...my mother loves these and I just want to be able to grow them again. Thanks for all the help!

The kid wearing that sweater again. Gary's going to have to go with topless seed packers from now on.

Hello, I apologize for hijacking your thread but I am growing Riesentraube tomatoes this year and I was wondering if anybody could tell me the correct pronunciation of "Riesentraube?"

Thanks in advance.

In German the second vowel is pronounced so it would be something like:

Ree zen traw beh

And this variety is not specifically a German variety. The same variety is known by other names in other languages in Europe and one of them, I can't remember the spelling or the language, translates out as Goat's T*t.

I'll be forwarding this thread to Gary today or tomorrow so he can see the picture of the variety in question.
