"Purple Boy" Tomato
Parks has this advertised this year, and it caught my eye:
https://parkseed.com/tomato-purple-boy/p/52823-PK-P1/ The description is quite scant, and I can't find other references to it on the internet. I suspect it is an F1 hybrid, but the description doesn't say one way or another. Anyone know anything about the development of this one? Just curious. -GG |

https://www.google.com/search?q=Purp...&bih=815&dpr=1 It's nothing new IMO, they, who ever they are have just added "disease resistance" to it, and me says no such thing as resistance, the operative word is tolerance. It could be Cherokee Purple,it could be Indian Stripe,it could be, well,I decided to checkout Tania's site but that's down right now. Let's see what others here have to say. Carolyn

The description seems to be a home run (covering all the bases).
"Grown for its red, orange, or yellow, rounded, oblong, or pear-shaped fruits that come in a variety of sizes" |

I don't think that's what they meant, and I called it to their attention + asking if it is hybrid (likely) or O.P. I think that means "Tomatoes are grown for... " There are also some broken links that turn up wrong pages or 404 errors. It looks like the description is a work-in-progress -- or at least I hope so.
Edit: Park responded to my query. It is an F1 hybrid. Last edited by Greatgardens; December 24, 2018 at 09:57 AM. |
