And I see no mention of garlic ice cream. That was the best part of the Garlic festivals I have attended! I think I need to find another festival to attend just to have another serving of the ice cream.

Every Labor Day weekend in the Poconos there is a huge garlic fest. I have never been but people that have gone to it have nothing bad to say...

Okay, this thread is, "Random Pictures" You gotta use your imagination, because I'm not taking a picture of it - Imagine you have a cold or whatever is going around and all of your neighbors have it too. Then you think, "I'll go online to my favorite gardening site and read while I'm sick. BAD IDEA! It hurts - I get a headache looking at the screen and small font. That would be a bad picture - lol....ow.
Hope you feel better soon, Salt!

This is reminding me that I need to buy a nice big pork butt, a bunch of cilantro and some tomatillos to cook up a batch of pork chili verde. I'm realizing I haven't made any in over a year.

I didn't get pumpkins till this year. And I mean get, not only in the planting sense, but in the being 'one with your pumpkin' thing. That pumpkin aura that draws everyone past hours of tomato work and worry, to orange spots on the ground, near where you've non-nonchalantly tossed a couple of seeds.

Pumpkins are about fun, the Lucille Ball of the garden. I finally get it.

You wont be seeing any chili verde from me, I absolutely despise the stuff.
They made the stuff where I worked and of all things they put cloves in it.
Even if it tastes good I cant get past the look of chili verde.
The only time I have ever made salsa verde is by request of others.
If I do make a slasa verde it will not have tomatillos in it.
Cant stand the things.
Last night I canned 7 pints of the pork chili and froze 4 in freezer bags.
For some strange reason I dont care for any chicken cooked in Mexican food either.
Again the verde salsa with tomatillos.
Sour and tangy is not my idea of a good time.
Not to say I cant make the stuff I just dont like it.

Funny Salsa Verde. Reminds me of a recent PM I sent.

That's always something to consider when cooking, if you don't like the ingredients - you're probably not going to like the results.
My wife and I cannot stand cloves. Cloves on a ham ruins the ham for us.
