Default One more question

When do you put light on your seedlings?
As soon as you plant the seed?
After they geminate?

Best to just have the light on so they see light when the pop out of the ground.

They need light as soon as the little crooks break the soil surface.

If you decide to wait until they break the soil surface DON'T wait until all of them do. It's important that there's light for the first one up or it will get tall and gangly while you're waiting for the others.

Sound advice.
Here is the visual illustration of how Not to do it.
I started these March 2, went out of town on the 4th. Came home on the 7th. Did not set my light timer correctly so they were in the dark for a couple of days, under the humidity dome on the heat mat. Oops.
2nd pic is the same group 6 days later on the 13th. Doing fine but quite the basketball team.....
