Just as an fyi, I'm considering getting a 40 pound box of Evangeline. Is anyone interested enough to want a few tubers to trial?

I'd love to try it. We've settled on Beauregard after several years of trying all the locally available varieties as well as many from Sandhill Preservation and finding that they didn't produce as well in our smallish garden, or worse, that they got those dark sunken spots that make them rot in storage. Sounds as though Evageline shares Beauregard's disease resistant but also has a nicer color and sweeter taste. As long as it produces well, it sounds like a real winner. I'll be happy to pay for the shipment of a couple tubers, thanks. Let me know if you decide to go ahead with the plan.

Don't know if there will be enough, but I would love to try these too. Have had success with regular potatoes, but not tried planting sweet potatoes. As I am going to plant some anyway this year, I'd like to have really good stock to work with. Let me know if there is some available and how to split the cost. Evangeline is a nice sweetpotato, I received a 40 pound box last year planning to sell slips, but with the patent I really didn't want to do the paperwork, However, I am planing to make a trip to Alabama soon ( I just need a break in the weather) and then go by and pick up some sweets that I have already ordered from LSU on my way home. I am going to try to get a licence to have it this year, as I have already had requests. Evangeline is definitely better than beauregard.
