Ouch...now I know why I haven't seen 'rose cones, in all the local garden centers and big box stores! That's $1200 worth of frost protection in that photo! And I thought Texas tomato cages were pricey-at least you get to use them for the entire season.
Thanks for the link, though, Sherry; guess I'll just be waiting until the end of May to plant next year.

I clicked on the Amazon link and saw the price for those things is $59.00. I couldn't find any information that the price bought more than one of the rose cones. Are they crazy? $59.00 for something that is no more sophisticated than a $2.00 Styrofoam beer cooler seems a little out of line.

Germany had some snow too this week, it is very hard to believe but what do you do about it ;-) I planned an early season this year because last years came hot, it was a bet and I lost ;-) luckely all I (we) lost was time, plants were stalling and are just taking off now (at high speed that's for sure).

it should be safe to plant out in june I guess ;-)
