Default Pink Accordian crosses?

Just curious if anyone has tried. Couldn't resist ordering some seed today because of the unique shape. Reminds me of a hot pepper that I like to grow for stuffing and visual impact (Hot Red Cheese).

Has anyone tried crossing Pink Accordian with another variety?

If you cross it, cross it with something REALLY great b/c it was a spitter at our tomatofest. However, b/c of all the ribbing, we sliced it into sections and made 'tomato lips' from it! I think Mr. Tudball may have a group photo of us with our 'lips'. Really large plant and the fruit we had was huge. piegirl

Hi piegirl,

I won't have many choices as am only growing Yoder's German Yellow, Cherokee Purple, Sungold, Pink Icicle and Marianna's Peace this year. Pretty old CP seeds and couldn't believe the great germination. Still haven't received the Pink Icicle and Pink Accordian. (Impatiently tap, tap, tapping...)

I wonder why it is spelled Accordian with an "a" and not with an "o"?

pink accordian is one of the worst tasting tomatoes i've ever grown. i'd suggest starting with a more flavorful ribbed tomato.

Hi strax,

I'm only growing it for the weird shape & to try crossing with other varieties. Fun for me to grow something different & I love finding tomatoes with tails etc. http://www.fototime.com/E73E5FE7B4A3A88/orig.jpg

Seeds arrived this morning! On the pkg the spelling is Accordion with an "o".
