Default Fertilizer - I need a recommendation

It is almost time to plant my 550 tomato plants in South Georgia, this is my first time planting this many. What fertilizer would you recommend?

I have really good soil and I am having the ph tested.

Thanks

How much more will it cost to have a complete soils test that will give you a printout nutrient and amendment recommendation? Is your soil real sandy, which is likely in Ga. coastal plain, keep in mind sand doesn't hold nutrients very well or very long. What does your county extension agent recommend for tomatoes in your soil type? Variety choices can make a difference too. Modern hybrid determinates will require a nitrogen booster at fruit set, and most who grow commercial style would do that as a side dressing in a strip under your plastic sheet mulch. So many variables to consider based on soils, varieties, culture methods, etc.

I agree - that's a lot of tomatoes and a big investment in time and other resources. Get a full soil test - a good one is $20 - $30 and well worth it. Once you have your soil test in hand, you can make a fully informed decision about how to fertilize.
