Default Eli

Don't remember who sang it, but everytime I water Eli I start singing that old song " Eli's coming hide your heart girl..." I don't know about the heart part, but Eli is super productive. Nice, good size tomatoes.

Default Dixie Green Giant

Another green one I will have to learn when to pick. It was a bit slow to come on at first, but more than made up for it once the plant hit about 5'. Now it making all kinds of huge tomatoes. Huge to me anyways.

Want a workhorse of a tomato plant. This is one. Came on like gang buster and hasn't stopped. Clusters of nice large cherry type. Nothing seems to phase it. It's a sprawler though

Not too sure about this one. Giving me a little fits. I haven't figured out whether it wants more sun or a bit of shade yet. Could be it just not liking all this rain.

Default Tangerine Mama

My hybrid that I was so anxious to see. Tomato size sure doesn't look like what was on package. Definitely not a large size tomato. Actually this hybrid has given me more problems that the heirlooms.

Had lots of blossom drop for awhile. Also was very slow to make tomatoes. It's gotten with the program now, but a fussy starter. Sure hope it at least sweet tasting like package said.

Now KY isn't that far from AL., but I think it might be homesick. Compared to alot of the other plants it slower in making tomatoes. Could just be the nature of the plant.

Default Oaxacon Jewel

Wondering if the word Oaxacon is Spanish or not and what it means or if that the name of the town it was created in.

Thanks Miss S! They looking good now, but we will see what happens here in the next couple of months. That will be the real test of seeing who can stand up to the heat and humidity. Wish they made suntan lotion for tomatoes. Got a feeling they gonna need it.

Got bug patrol in a few minutes. Got these tiny like brown striped, real skinny worms that have showed up in mass. grrrrrrrrr. and ewwwwwwwww! They worse than hornworms.

Hope you have a good year too!

Linda'a Faux is a NOT Acker's West Virginia. It is a PL plant with larger fruit and better production. See this link for the history. http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Linda's_Faux

Hopefully when the time comes, I'll be brave enough to taste test a green one. If not will just be more seed to save.
Grub is a great character! It is his username on many garden forums. I do believe that iDig is one of them.
