Dear Dak, maybe make a new, separate post regarding your squash seed giveaway please?

Fred Hempel was a passionate man that gave everything he had to develop amazing tomatoes. I have known Fred for countless years, spending time at his farm in Sunol, and collaborating with him on many varieties. For me he will be remembered with the greats such as Luther Burbank and the others that worked so diligently to develop varieties that people would love. I pray his family and friends find peace in this tough season. Fred you will be missed my friend😢

So saddened to hear this. 63 is a baby age.
I just pulled and checked on my Artisan seeds which I have adopted and been growing for years.

I only just learned of Fred's death this week. I'm so saddened by this. We never met, but his tomatoes gave me such joy, and I recommended Artisan Seeds to everyone. I will be more diligent about saving seed from the Artisan OP varieties I grow every year. I have some unreleased seeds from Fred that I must try growing again (I germinated a few last year but life got in the way of my garden).
