Pearly Pink Orange

I have grown this multiple times. Its a dwarf, very prolific cherry. Pretty much determinate. Puts out a lot of cherries. This photo shows a container with 4 plants, maybe only 3, in it, has already fruited at about 25 days from transplant. Thats quick-my greenhouse tomatoes always have extended dtm's vis a vis the summer dtm's for the same variety.

How's the taste? I'd almost grow it just because the name appeals to me!

And I always love seeing the pictures inside your greenhouse. It's always so neat and tidy!

Sherry-Thanks for the compliment. My wife makes me keep it clean! I have always grown this variety in the dead of winter, and that affects taste. I have never grown it at this time of the year, or outside during the heat. That said, its good. Its much better than whippersnapper, another variety that is prolific and dwarf. Since I am growing it in good heat (my greenhouse is getting temps of up to 90 degrees for the high now), check back and I will post on taste when I have ripe fruit. But my recollection is that this is a good tasting cherry.

I rec'd seeds in trade for Pearly Pink......is that different from Pearly pink orange. Probably PPO is the orange version of PP?? Patty

Patty-I dont know if they are the same-I have seen the variety pearly pink, but have never grown it.

Pearly Pink is a vigorous indeterminate RL cherry. I rather doubt the two are related given the very different growth habits, but am not in a position to declare it one way of the other.

Michael,
How do you keep your growbags looking brand new? Were you the culprit who bought out the rest of the 5 gal. gb from Peaceful Valley??? Craig said they had some left a couple of months ago and when I went to inquire about them, they were gone! My gb's look terrrible after one season. Maybe my potting mix is darker.

Sue-not guilty on the 5 gallon-have not bought any 5 gallon grow bags for several years.

The grow bags in the photo are new- so my old ones are not as good looking as the photo. I do scrub them with a bleach/soap solution-but they never get as clean as the ones in the photo.
