Here are some backup plants. I had two sets in purple [of course] containers but one decided to do a forward two and a half with a twist off of a windowsill. Only the quick thinking of Brainy Smurf was able to save them. Here is the one that had to withdraw from the dive competition. Here are the survivors: |

And the last two:
This is Shorty Smurf: He was a goner but we were able to perform mouth-to-leaf resuscitation: Notice that Shorty has the most anthocyanin of all his siblings. |

Look how much darker DWTS is when subjected to being in the basement, and thus 10+ degrees cooler than upstairs.

Beautiful blues. I also notice the PL Dwarf in the background. Is it from the Project?

Yes, that is Summertime Gold. And those are the first generation seeds available which I bought from SandHill Preservation Center and [other varieties] from Tomato Growers Supply. But for clarification... I was not involved in the Cross-Hemisphere Dwarf Project {although that would have been pretty cool}.

Has anyone gotten a Dances with Smurfs ripe fruit yet, I figured as a Pacific North West breed variety the DTM might be quicker but so far mine ( I guess heat might could be a factor) seems to be taking forever. I have lots of fruits now out of 4 -8 flowers per cluster 3-6 set fruit but not showing any signs of ripening yet.

Mine are not quite ripe yet; this pic was taken yesterday, a cluster of 8 toward the bottom of the plant.

I thought the taste was very plain. I only gave it a 5. I will not be growing this again unless I decide to use it for breeding, and I can improve the flavor. |
