Default Seeds are sown...

Finally after much anticipation and fighting the urge to start them two weeks ago, I was able to finalize a list and get some seeds started. Scaled back slighty from last year, and many new to me varieties...does the obsession ever go away?!

Anna Russian
Red Barn
Sweet Ozark Orange
Sweet Caneros Pink

Amborisa Gold
Amborisa Red

Dark Galaxy

And dwarfs that will be grown in 5gal Smart Pots:
Summertime Green
Summertime Gold
Rosella Crimson
Rosella Purple
Uluru Ochre
Chocolate Lightning

Looking forward to the 2015 season.

The "scaled back slightly from last year" really just means Im saving room for the last minute additions that randomly find their way into my garden.

First wave of seedlings popped yesterday, I predict I will come home to quite a few more. Dealing with way more helmet heads than I have ever dealt with and it has me a little frustrated. Hopefully they wil right themselves. Peppers are doing great and will be getting their first feeding tonight. I will try to post pictures sometime in the next few days.

Good stuff, Ive grown a few of those myself. I'll be interested in your thoughts on the 2 new dwarf project releases. The pink passion and purple heart almost made the cut, but I had a few others I was wanting to try more. Perhaps we can trade seed at the end of the grow season? Good luck to you, thanks for sharing.

I had a lot of them this year too. Not sure if its because a lot of my seed is getting a little older or what. I had to spray water and really work on some to get them free.

Between the spray bottle and a little saliva between the fingers I can usually save most. What suprised me was the number of them within a few varities. I planted Rebel Yell and had 12 of 12 come up with helmets. A couple other varieties had at least half with helmets. Im used to one or two within a variety. I dont even think i had 12 helmets total last year of over 100 seeds sown. Just odd to me...I almost wondered if I hadn't sown them deep enough or something. We will see how they fair. Ive still got some time, and I will be sowing a small flat of back-ups this week.

Gardeneer, You might want to move Fourth of July out of your dwarves category. I believe it is an indeterminate and quite an aggressive growing plant. It grows well under a wide range of temperature conditions, so it’s a keeper, just give it some room.

Dutch I saw that too, and although Fourth of July is not a Dwarf as such, it does top out, at least for me at a few feet. Although I have always grown it in a 7 gallon container. I don't grow it so much as an early as I do a tomato that will take the heat!

Thanks HGC,

I am growing those for the first time.
Gladly will report back on them when the time comes. There has been nice write up on them at Sample Seeds Shop, where I got the seeds from.
I wanted post a picture from my PC but couldn't do it.
