Mantis,

You won't be able to get in there next month without breaking some limbs... Literally!!

Do they get transplanted out, or stay in there for the season?

They stay in the whole season. They are planted in normal pots, selfwatering pots and bottomless pots on the border soil.

Mantis, what are gorgeous baby tomatoes - look very nice.

I am already getting jealous.... hmmm... and my season is not even over yet... just picked 127 kg ripe tomatoes yesterday, after neglecting my patch for a week... my back still hurts.

Looking great Mantis.

Not long now till we see those boxes full, bench covered, and a smile on your dial.

Plenty of fruit set by the looks of things too.

Hi Grub. Yeah they are not missing many flowers with the fruit set so far. Also have fruit on Prudens Purple, Brandywine and Kellogs Breakfast. Flowers about to open on New Big Dwarf, Arkansas Travellor, Opalka, Kimberly and Momotaro.
The fruit set is a month earlier than last year, so the early sowing on May 7th worked.

Good news. I think you have grown Prudens Purple before? No? I'm trying it again. It didn't produce for me in the first year. Do you think it's almost as good as Brandywine Sudduth?

Yes, Grub , I grew it last season. One plant in a pot outside and it produced some lovely fruit. Hence, the spot in the greenhouse this year. As good as Brandywine suddeth, I cant remember but stay tuned. I do remember that they were very good, and I may have likened them to Brandywine. I only got fruit from them late in the season ,and with so many others at the same time, that a comparison was probably dicey to say the least.
Mantis * who will keep better records this year, I promise*

Default Prudens Purple

Well, I know my PPs are PL.

And from memory it's referred to as, like, the poor-man's Sudduth. With way better production.

The PPs I grew two years ago were just duds. Mules with no fruits.

But seedling wise everything is looking really good this year. Less fiddling is good.

Even the dumb violas that were just stuffed in the ground post haste only late afternoon look better than those I have treated with kid gloves before.

Given that PP is late season I think I'll have a big late crop this year.

Just checked my records from last year and I got 12 fruit off one potted PP. Not bad for potted plants growing outside down here.
