Default Gardener Spiders?

I just pulled out my cage extensions from my deep dark garage. One cage had a common "gardener spider" active with a recent kill from what I can tell Is there any reason why I should get rid of this spider as he seemed to be happy after my installation of the cage? I figure that he will help with bugs down the road if he decides to stay. He is about the size of a USA quarter. Thanks! >>>>>>>>> Talon

Spiders give me the heebie jeebies, but when I find them on or near my plants I leave them alone because they will help with bug control. I also saw a couple of pictures on line the other day of one that had trapped a hornworm!

Oooooooooo, what wonderful things spiders are capable of!!!

I kinda figure if it's some sort of bug/insect and it doesn't eat tomato, then it's probably good for my garden, lol! In fact I have quite a population of garden/wolf spiders (ya know, the big harry ones!) living under my weed cloth! I had to pause and wait for one to carry off what appeared to be its egg sack.

i'd leave it alone unless it is a brown recluse whose bite can be very dangerous. black widows are definitely dangerous but we don't have them here and i doubt you do either. spiders are predators and are helpful.
