Default Replace squash plants after harvest?

My Acorn squash seeds germinated April 23 and my butternut squash seeds germinated April 24. I plan to harvest the acorn squash before the end of the month and the butternut squash mid August.
I notice that the plants and vines are still producing new squash and more flowers. Are the acorn squash plants too tired to produce large fruit?
Do I leave them or do I remove them after the harvest and plant new seeds?
I will not replace the butternut squash vines. If I leave them will they continue to produce?
