No, I didn't know that but I have observed one circling in the air catching bugs in flight.
I learned only last year that flies are the number two pollinator after bees.

Gardenboy,
I would love to grow your Passion Vine. I have a trellis that is empty and needs a vine.

I love the pictures in this thread. Keep them coming. Is that a future monarch?

Default Look what I found!

Encouraged by the sight of Shrinkrap's caterpillar, I immediately went out to check my milkweed. Since I bought the plants a couple of weeks ago I've seen evidence that the plants are being chewed up, but I never saw any caterpillars. So I just went outside to check and saw this guy on the underside of a milkweed leaf.

Something you dont see often.
Someone with enough bravery to give one of these a much needed grooming.
Always wear good eye protection.
The thing is starting to branch after years.
I bought it as a wee baby.
Mountain yucca aka yucca x schottii.believed to be a natural hybrid.
The trunk gets around 12 inches diameter and can reach around 16 feet tall.
The small yucca beside it I call the eat you alive yucca (Has Teeth) can't remember the name but originally came from a botanical garden in california me thinks.
