I think your photos look great! Love your kitty, too. Thanks for posting them- those of us in the North can only dream that our tomatoes will look that good this year.

I love looking at plants...those tigger fruits are supposed to smell divine. Have you eaten one yet? Do you grow most of your plants in pots? The beans look great...but what's the difference between a pole bean, a runner bean and a half runner bean? I just grow string beans

Your tomatoes and other plants look so healthy...and NO black spots. I'm jealous!

I've got a Thessaloniki growing indoors, I'm so happy to hear you like the plant, how did you like the fruits?

Hi lakelady,
No I haven't eaten any melons yet, and I am not sure whether I will be able to eat before it becomes colder (I actually like experimenting and I want to see what's going to happen).
I garden mostly in raised beds but also give it a shot every now then to see how different plants do in containers. So far melon and watermelons are doing very good.
I think a half-runner bean is between a pole and runner bean. It is frequently mentioned that half runners don't need staking but I don't agree since they easily get taller than 5 ft, at least in my case.
I grew Thessaloniki last summer and I must say it is a very juicy and sweet tomato. It was one of the earliest plants to produce fruits, and prolific.
And some more pictures:
1) Frog resting on the bell pepper plant.
2) Ants on the California black eye pea.
3) Harvest (peppers, arugula, mustard greens).
4) Leftover golden purslane after harvesting.

I have a question regarding picture 2. These ants love my California black eye peas, and actually if I am not hallucinating, they also cut the beans at the stem. Are these ants common pests that attack specifically these beans?

Weather is warm these days. I am not sure how the plants will handle the frost in December but I will wait and see. I hope winter doesn't stay too long for you.
