I finally ordered mine last Saturday along with another tomato book.
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long.

I brought it with me to the plant sale and referred to it a couple of times. I might've sold a book or two if they remember the name and are fastidious about looking it up.

Carolyn, your book is available at Borders/ Waldenbooks store. I bought one last week for under $20.00..They'll order it for you if they don't have it in stock..May take 2 weeks..Well worth the wait......Great book!!!

There are other errors as well Worth, but not too many and not crucial.

When the book first came out I was given a copy to redline, which meant if it was republished I'd be given a chance to correct the errors. And for sure I'd change some of the seed sources given a chance.

But under the circumstances the book was sent off for new copies and I wasn't given a chance to correct anything.

Oh well, as the saying around here goes.

I am going to have to go to an actual bookstore then. The Borders stores I go through at the airports etc.. never have such good books. I will make a point of getting a copy my next time home.

Bryan dont waste your time just order the thing from Amazon like I did, it was $12 it will be home when you get there.

Carolyn no harm intinded for sure.

It seems these days these things are every where you look.

I Know my writing grammer is way off the wall but I do try.

I really loved the book, I just wish there were more like it.

Got my copy last night...almost had to play tug-of-war with the wife for it! All I can say is...WOW!

The wife was all about the 100 tomatoes...the pics are amazing. I was all about the seed saving and the SSE...I'm definitely going to join this...any advice on how to get my feet wet in this area?

I'm not Carolyn, but my interest in SSE has always been, if you find a variety you like (and the only way to do that is to trade lots of seeds with people and try lots of varieties that might be "off the beaten path") which is not really well known, and then list it every year in the SSE Yearbook. By championing, preserving, and suggesting a variety that others might not know about, you are expanding the availability of great tomato varieties.

I know Gregori's Altai is already somewhat well known, but I think everyone in Houston ought to try it at least once, based on my result in 3 seasons. I had my first one last night and it was just a good overall tomato. And I've got something like 75 set on 3 plants. That is almost unheard of for a pink beefsteak in Houston.

JD's Special C-Tex is a variety that Suze and I are really pushing out there and saving lots of seeds to make it more available. Also Monomakh's Hat is really nice, productive, and is special for not taking up quite so much space as other plants.
