Apparently there are quite a few. 'Heatless Hab' is sometimes used to describe the Aji Dulce varieties, as well as the 'Suave' NuMex habaneros, and another one called 'Apricot'.....

I think heatless is a relative term in some cases too. May still be a lil hot. Or not. It's going to be a surprise...

Joe Bratka bred and named a variety Sara Black, said it was from relatives in Germany, but it wasn't, sonot anheirloom. Somehow it got translated to German which is what you listed it as, but it should be Sara Black as Joe named it.

German Queen is pink, not red

Omar's Lebanese is pink

Mortgage Lifter is pink, not red unless you're growing the Mortgage Lifter that Jeff MC Cormack bred, former owner of SASE, which is red with some disease tolerant genes bred in.

Eva purple Ball is pink, no purple at all. In older times the word purple was used to indicate a pink variety so Aunt Ginny's Purple is pink, Prudens Purple is pink, etc.

When in doubt about the color of a variety being pink or red, you can take a piece of the thin epidermis and hold it up to the light and if it's clear, the variety is pink, and if yellow it's red. It's best to use a known red and known pink at the same time so you have direct comparisons.

Hope that helps.

Carolyn, who probably missed some variety comments but she's in a hurry right now.
Thank you, Carolyn, I will change my info on the computer.

Hey guys I'm more of a lurker/reader than a poster, but I thought I'd pitch in with this one! I just moved to a duplex so tomato growing may be just 2-3 plants, but assuming our home doesn't sell I'll just list for my normal 20 plants that way if I plan it, my house will sell!

Black Krim (2 plants)
Sungold (2 plants)
Mortgage lifter
Speckled roman
Wisconsin 55
Hawaiian pineapple
Indian stripe
San marzano
Kosovo
Amish paste
Brandy wine
Work release paste

Who knows what else. If I only have 3 plants I'll probably do a mortgage lifter, black Krim and something else. No pastes, just slicers.

Can anyone tell me about the flavor of the Heatless Habanero? I love the fruity aftertaste of the Habanero, but I'm not man enough to just pull one and eat it. I have to tone the heat down by cooking it in different dishes or making a sauce with milder varieties blended in. Unfortunately, when you tone the heat down a few notches; you are also lowering the distinctive flavor.

I'd already posted an earlier version of this list in my own thread, but I'd like to get in on the fun here. I've made a few edits from the original after calculating that I'd have plenty of room to fit 40 vines in my beds comfortably, with a stretch to 45 under compression. This comprises only my tomato plans. Seeds that have failed to germinate in the past 2-3 weeks yellow-highlighted (*'d) and those which I have not been given a week yet are lime-highlighted (**'d).

Naysen, OK one plant of each variety, right? ndlets assume that all the seeds are true for the variety, right?

And how many seeds did you plant for each variety, maybe I missed that so if I did please help.

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn, I had some trouble getting the formatting to work with my text-post (spaces deleted out by the site), so it's not easy to see that I included a Qty column for capturing the number of each variety I'm targeting. You can look at my posted pic, which is from my Excel sheet (easier to read). So, I will be growing more than one of certain varieties, such as KBX and Wes, as shown in my list.

I'd like to believe all seeds are true for the their variety, as most were received in trades and exchanges on this site. Many were grown last season and appeared true.

For each variety, I planted at least 2 seeds per plant Qty that I'm targeting, so for instance with Cherokee Purple where I'm aiming for two plants, I first planted 4 seeds. Incidentally, 2 of the 4 CP seeds germinated into what are now healthy seedlings.

Hi, Raiquee,
If I may recommend tomato to try...
Carbon was great for me and survived until frost. Heavy producer.
It is very tasty as well.

Kinda tame compared to some of the list. Some I've grown before others are new. Starting 6 of everything - what I don't use in my garden I'll give away. If I had more room there'd be a LOT more.

Amish Paste
Aussie
Brandywine (Landis)
Cuostralee - I've had these get to 4lbs
Cherokee Chocolate
Cherokee Purple
Delicious
Dixie Golden Giant
Fireworks
German Giant
Great White
Illinois Beauty
Mule Team
Mexico
Omar's Lebanese
Ozark Pink
Principe Borghese
Riesentraube
Sioux
Tommy Toe

Also trying out a long keeper tom for the first time. Won't be starting that for a while.
Have a friend who I'm starting toms for but she can't seem to make up her mind what she wants. Better decide soon cause I'm starting mine this weekend.

I don't know what varieties I will be setting out this year because I am going all in on grafting this year in a last ditch effort to beat the fusarium that plagues my garden soil. I don't know which varieties will survive my attempts at grafting. Right now I only have about 15 plants that so far look successful. In a couple of weeks I will have a better idea what I will be setting out in the garden.
