My first big megabloom turned out to be 4 fused together, I was going to pass it up but did not have the heart to cull it, and it is a BZ F1. I have a teeny issue with the plant though, it's sorta puny still, so I will have to grow out some foliage to catch some photons, so they can do what they do. I will give it a week to 10 days before I top it this round.

I have a triple on Terhune, but hopefully will get a better choice, the other 10 or so varieties are starting to move along nicely now too.
Anyone using the Terhune, you will notice the flowers are much smaller than BZ, but if they were like last year, it won't matter.
Ricky you being from Colorado made me think we had better look to see what's in your cigars. LOL

Vladimir, I think what Mark is saying is that it's a mixed up situation with Brutus being a name associated with several possibly different varieties

For instance,I have

Brutus
Giant Brutus
Brutus Magnus
Brutus Magnum

And I don't have a real clue about that.

And I hope that especially new members here do recognize that Lubadub is Marv Meissner who wrote the book about how to grow Giant tomatoes.

Carolyn,who bows to Marv,we've known each other for many years,whenever Mega Marv is mentioned, and it has been, by several of you.

Thank you Carolyn. I don't know about Brutus, Giant Brutus or Brutus Magnus. These names may or may not be referring to Brutus Magnum which I received while in Canada and which I have subsequently passed on to many giant tomato growers. The two brothers who were growing this variety and gave me some seeds were very clear about the name. They had been growing it for years. They originally purchased the seed in a packet at one of the stores in Toronto. They were quite clear about that.

Worth: I come and go here and mostly lurk. Occasionally I post but not very often. It would be likely that you would not know me. As time goes by I post less and less. My nephew works at a radio station there in Austin, not sure which one.

So how are you guys doing with your plants?
My BZ is 4 fused but one section got some rot in it and is turning a bit yellow, I may have to chop it. I have a triple fused on Terhune, a triple on Belmonte, and a triple on Rozovyi Myod.

I crossed Delicious to Terhune, and Terhune to Rozovyi, they took, and may be interesting. I have a giant bloom on Yuvel, but it's not open enough to see what's going on yet. The OP BZ I have is a bit slower to grow than the F1, we will just have to see what they throw for fused blooms.
Others I am trying are getting there, and I have backed most up with cuttings so I can get another crack at the good ones this summer.
Anyway, the plants health is great, so I want to see results, NOW. LOL

Too early to tell here. Plants are just starting. Cold at night. Will get frost for awhile yet.

I have a bunch of plants with fused blossoms. Must be the cool temps right now. Even ones I wasn't planning on using for competition style growing like sweet scarlet and Rosella purple dwarfs have a few.
It got me to thinking if there is something to crossing a zac etc to a dwarf...

I've got one in a 5 gal container and it's being fed copiously. Lots of big blooms on the comp Terhune. 3 more plants are on the way. Hoy had to be clipped due to poor fruit set. My Big Z seedlings died.

Lots of big blooms here and there, if one takes we're in business. As PH stated, many of my dwarfs are also putting out initial megablooms.

I want to cross it, BZ, and Delicious to a dwarf just for fun.
Now which dwarf...Sweet Scarlet? Rosella? The Loxtons?

Why do I feel like the breeding experts will stomp all over this idea?
Anyway, I'm doing it and nobody can stop me!!

You won't know what you get until you try it. The world record tomato was grown on a severely pruned plant, around 24 inches tall. Most laughed at the idea early in the season. They are not laughing now.
