Fifteen degrees warmer, but not warm! This is really cold for us too. Sunday this front came in pwith gale force, toppled 2 banana trees, one had a really nice stalk of bananas forming. It fell on my Orange Rusdian 117, but only broke 1 branch. We are trying to prop up the tree so it can finish forming its bananas.

Oh no!! I hope you are able to save the bananas and the trees.

There is another front coming through Friday.

I'm about 60 miles south of you and I'm 8 degrees warmer at night with low of 48.

Barb,

Like you've mentioned before, I think those few degrees difference is why I can get blooms sometimes when it's too hot for your plants.

I dont have any good pictures yet because it has been in the 30s and 40s at night the last few weeks so not much is growing right now.

I do have one plants setting a few tomatoes (not sure how).

And I'm still moving my seedlings outside on warm sunny days and inside at night. They are just maintaining until I can plant them out.

And in this cup there are two plants from the same seed source (unstable seed). One of them never got a main growth shoot. I'll be culling it but left it long enough to be sure it wasnt going to grow.

Beautiful Ginny. I bet the anticipation must be unbearable at times. I know I would be checking the predicted weather forecast hourly haha.

Thank you Jpop! Seeing how well your beautiful plants are doing made me all the more impatient... lol.

The 10 day forecast shows it's starting to get consistently warmer so I'm planning to plant themout a week from Saturday. Have you been spraying yours much?

You are very welcome and thank you for the kind words. I am following Marsha's practices as she has been very successful in our zone and no need to reinvent the wheel. Her recommendation was to spray them w/ 1/2 tbs copper & 1 tsp BT to gal. of water once a week and/or after every rain. Due to the relatively dry weather in Jan. vs. Dec. I have not had to prune much foliage thank goodness. If my plants stay healthy, I will do some pruning later in the spring when the RH climbs above 65% for extended periods.

The only difference I believe I am doing is treating the city water w/ a chloramine water conditioner for min. 48 hours prior to filling reservoirs or spraying the foliage. I inoculated my potting mix w/ mycorrhizae prior to transplant and the chloramine would likely kill any beneficial fungi as a result.

Ginny, your pictures are like candies to a baby. Can't get enough. Keep them coming.

Ginny, I am enjoying your pictures. Your seedlings are looking good! Hope you get to plant them out soon. I started a few seeds yesterday, early I know, but I just have the need to see those tomato babies sprout up so I can brush those leaves to get a whiff!

No dill I wonder if the dill seed I have for spice would work or if they baked it.

I'm going to give it a try.
