Default yesterday

Scant final offerings from Gregori's Altai, Pearls of Wisdom, Titan Red, Odoriko, Bushy Chabarovsky, Fuzzy Wuzzy, Tasm Choc, Titan Red, and a very ripe Copper River at 1pm. Still waiting on a few George Detsikas and Pappy Kerns.

Lookin good Gerardo. It too was 87 yesterday where im at and is supposed to be hotter today. I want the little bit of winter back that we had. If it keeps up we are going to see 115°+ this summer and that is going to be rough.

Have you tasted Fuzzy Wuzzy yet? I thought they were tart, but not bad.

Yes indeed, foreboding signs everywhere. I may have to invest in some type of shade.

I liked watching the plant grow, I liked its disease resistance, I liked that it was very compact, and I liked the colors and nipple on the tomato. The tomato itself, pretty average. Will keep combing through the fuzzy ones.

Cute dogs. Are they rescues? Are there a lot of stray dogs in Tijuana?

Rescues indeed. Tons of stray dogs. No will to correct it, from either citizens or government.

This is what I call the south western burglar chaser breed.
I have seen a million of them and they all look the same.
I had one and gave it to my brother his name was Buddy.
A great loyal pet to those they know.
A mean SOB to bad people.

They're definitely pit mixes. Golden Retriever is my guess for the other half.

Very good boys. They have many generations of stray dog in them, by far the healthiest pets ever. Big parties they are loose and zero incident yet. Kids pull their tails and poke their eyes, proof that it's not the breed at fault when things go bad. Lots of pit in them, manifested via the poker stare.

I had a cat like that he would lay down in the middle of a bunch of wild drunks and just chill out.
His name was Snags.

Rescues! Muchas gracias mi amigo!
There's a Tijuana rescue/Humane Society. They sure need help.

Those guys have a lot of name recognition already.

I do what I can, on other fronts. There's a fair amount of poor people who take care of a lot of dogs, and whenever I hear of an interesting case I usually donate food.

I've found a good vet who'll take most of the egregious cases you find on the street, and he goes the rehab-adoption route most of the time.

I have some meds left over from putting one of my dogs down, so I keep them in my other car (the one I don't cross borders in) and it's ready to go if I see a dog in need while on the road.

Over the years, not stopping has haunted me the most, and I can still remember every detail of the doggies I did not help.

I also store a few cans of dog food in all of our cars to toss it to whomever needs it. Save all my bones and leftovers too and if I see a pooch in need I figure that might help him get through the day. It's no more than a feel good band-aid...

Very tricky down here, the love for dogs and everything American has been integrated. Animal sheltering and cruelty laws exist, the will to enforce them is a different story.

Snags must have been a dog-cat. Earlier in life I did not like felines. Now that I understand them digging their claws into me means they like me, we get along much better. Although if I don't wash my hands and touch my face, 'tis Benadryl time.

I especially like curling my fingers and creating sharp knuckles so they go crazy rubbing their cheeks and whiskers on them.

MUST WASH HANDS!
