For a paste, it's Costoluto Genovese. It's pretty much bullet proof and produces huge amounts of tomatoes for the sauce pot.

For eating, I'd say Dester will always have a place in my garden. Production is so-so, but the taste makes it worth it.

If I lived somewhere with a longer season, I thing Aunt Gertie's Gold would bump Dester out of the number one spot.

Not in any particular order!

Dester
Limbaughs Potato Top
Stump Of The World

I'm stuck in a rut and loving it.

Any meaty pink beefsteak. Every year I try a different one and they are ALL my favorites. I'm extremely happy in this particular indecisiveness of mine.

I've only tried five varieties so far (and only by buying them as plants), but of those: Stupice. Did well for me even in part shade, and I liked the taste.

Chocolate stripes-always looks great, never sick, never BER, always produces gorgeous fruit and tastes good. My saved seed here. Some of the pictures I have seen of Chocolate Stripes lately do not remotely resemble the fruit I get.

and

Whatever did great the year before.

I know, I can never list just one of anything. I have no regrets!

I'm glad I have a couple Cherokee Green babies growing right now. Some people seem convinced it's the best tomato ever and I've never grown a GWR. For the sake of curiosity, I requested it in the seed swap, and I may have to learn to like raw tomatoes. I grow too many of them to not like raw tomatoes!

I'm going to have to get me some Indian Stripe for next year...

I don't have a favorite yet. I'm still experimenting with new varieties, most of which are on all your lists this year.

If I had to pick one, I'd say Cosmonaut Volkov. Typing this reply took me far longer than it should have

Bear Claw. It was new to me last year. This year I've started 4 plants. Prior to growing Bear Claw Pale Perfect Purple topped my list of favorites

Someday maybe somebody will have one of my crosses on their must grow list. If so, I will die happy
