Insipid tomatoes, almost any variety that gets too much rain aren't spitters, because There's no flavor to be objectionable. It's very harsh tasting bold flavored tomatoes that are spitters.

Gregori's is the stem to stem, 360 degree splitter of splitters.

Mine didn't split, funnily enough. Huang Se Chieh is my splitting champion, although when dry-farmed, it is the tastiest white/light yellow tomato I have tried.

This thread is still going strong. I have mentioned the pink varieties that I will be growing this season, but not really being my favorite. I don;n make much distinction between red and pink, anyway. I think PINK is just RED with clear epidermis, or lighter red. .

Thinking of PWR varieties - I just looked and the Brandy Boy F1 I planted on the 24th has germinated sometime today the 27th. Three days, that's quick. The same germination time for Helsing ★★★★★★★★ Blue.

Glad the Brandy Boys are germinating so quickly (says the person who traded you for them), Robert; that is super quick! In a few months I'll be growing them, too, along with a few of your Pink Ping Pongs; according to the Hudson Valley Seed Company (formerly Library) catalog, Pink Ping Pongs have a "lovely" taste. Wish it were April already and I could get seeds going -- I have new favorites to discover...

In my batch Sun Gold germinated first , followed by BW Suddth, Big Beef, Ananas Noire, Mystery Black and few other. Brandy Boy germinated a day later. Mortgage Lifter ( pink ) was way behind the crowd.

You might try Old German Pink or Pink Stuffer for examples of very pink tomatoes (they're pink on the inside, too). Porter (the plum version), Pink Cheeks and some others also seemed quite pink, but it's hard to beat Old German Pink for pinkness.

They all germinated - every seed...except Eva Purple Ball didn't germinate at all.

All those F2, F3, F4s are like a mutt dog with their tales a waggin' and wanting to go out and play.

I wrote about wanting to find some more smaller seed cell trays the other day. I think it is in the peppers section. I quoted my own post to show that the seeds were planted on the same day. I like the smaller trays for many reasons, but results speak for themselves.

I use small hex cells just to germinate , up until sprouts have about 3 true leaves. Then I pot them up individually. If you leave the seedlings in there too long the roots will get tangled up, if you have more than one per cell. Obviously when the roots are restrained the seedling can not do much.

Hello from Vancouver, BC! I'm new to Tomatoville. Where does one get Rebel Yell seeds? I get my tomato seeds from either Tomato Growers and / or Tomatofest. Haven't come across this variety before. Thanks!!
