It's almost has to be in how a particular browser is set with respect to most likely javascript.

Java? You mean that program that I removed a while back because it was so annoying, demanding to be updated all the time?

Thank you Worth!!!!!

When I went into my photo program today, I was able to see the size of my pictures and they were 800x800. I took Worth's advice and reduced them to 600x600 and they worked!

Yeah! Thanks again Worth!

Linda

I'm sorry I missed your question.

No Java and java script are two different things although a browser can run both. Java is a full fledged programing language. The original intent was to have a programing language that was independant of the operating system and hardware it was on. Most security sites recommend that your turn Java off in your browser. Java script is used to do various things in a webpage. It appears that the smiles are handled by javascript. For example if I type : panic : without the spaces I get this smiley . Javascript makes that happen. Most websites wouldn't work right with java script turned off.

Thanks for explaining Doug!

I couldn't get to work for me, but that's ok as I can just zoom down and grab it

Actually you did. It doesn't show up until you either post it or preview it.

Hi,

Well, I used windows paint and resized a photo in my windows 7 download folder using paint. Everything seemed fine (image size 480 x 600) until I hit upload. Then it came up with "webpage not found." Any ideas on what might be going on?

Thanks,
Anne

Anne, I think for the images to work the file size needs to be around 100k (and image width resolution set to around 800-600 pixels). Once you upload it to tomatoville copy the link location and use the image button and paste the url. If the image resolution is to large it won't work.

Hi Delerium,

I think my image was OK (I sized it down to 480 x 600) but I keep getting invalid URL. Maybe I could e-mail you the original (sized) photo and you could try and post it for me - and then let me know what you did???

I've got your e-mail address and you'd be interested in the photo anyway, I think (stacked graft).

Let me know.

Thanks!
Anne

600 x 600 worked for the Album where 600 x 800 would not. This is a insert picture from the Album, I don't think I grok BB code. Tried attached, that gave a no thumb link that worked. YMMV
