Looking fantastic - that's really nice growth on the Midnight Sun, Karen. And a beautiful shape. It's cool that all three have distinctive heart shapes.

Thanks guys, the days seem to be crawling by, so anxious as I am to see a ripe one. I need to keep reminding myself that it's only June 14, it's only June 14, it's only June 14....

KarenO, I'm wondering do you feed the plants while they are growing their fruit? If so, what ferts do you favour? That's a whopper of a fruit for couple weeks' growth!!!
![]() Haha, only June 14 - I have a scrawny little cherry that looks like it's blushing. I know it''s a trick of the light, but I keep gawking at it.... ![]() ![]() |

MG all purpose while seedlings in pots.
Once in the ground, I'm organic I use lots of Compost, bit of MgSO4 and either MG organic granular fert or a product I like called "better than bonemeal" by president's choice available at superstore. KO Manure on the beds in the fall only. sits over winter KarenO |

Growing... June 21, the first day of summer. Lots of single digit nights over the past 4 weeks or I think they would be setting fruit better. Not bad for June though up here.

That's a great spot, Karen. Looks very sheltered.
It's very pleasing to see tomatoes outdoors with no protection or special gear, in a place that looks (a bit) like home. ![]() ![]() |

Windy yes indeed, that nice row of spruce trees is on the south side of the garden, storms and the winds that come with them typically approach from th e north and west here. It's a good test out there, the ones in my yard are much more sheltered. If a tomato can make it out in the open garden in zone 3, it's a real Tough tomato
