I keep telling myself every year I am going to collect mesquite beans and make flour and never do.
Did you know chewing mesquite leaves will get rid of heart burn. It works. Worth |

I was taking pictures for the RKN thread and got a couple for here while I was at it. The tomato flower is Pink Siberian Tiger. The other is some sort of shroom - they are all over the garden.
Oh, and for the first year since growing Sungold - it is not the earliest to produce a tomato. Mom's Big Fat Grape is the first. (Not pictured) it's tiny. |

We got a few pictures yesterday. I had to resize them, so hopefully they're the right size. The picture is the squirrel that lives in tree right out the window beside this PC. The others are of a flowering plant that grows on a nearby roadside. I don't know what they are, but they look good.

Robert could that flowering shrub be whitebrush? http://www.catnapin.com/WildFlowers/...MiscShrub1.htm
Verbenaceae - Vervain family Whitebrush (Bee-bush) Aloysia gratissima (Lippia lycioides) Bush shown is 6 feet tall. It has very long limbs being weighted down by loose flower clusters, 3" long. White with yellow centers, vanilla scent. Bush can grow into impassable thickets. Nectar is good for honey. Cows and deer will eat leaves in drought, but they are poisonous to horses. On second look, no, the leaves are too big. I think it might be Roughleaf Dogwood/Dogwood Bush:

Lot of Pictures today. The first is Dewberries. Time to look up recipes and seed saving.
The second and third are the same plant. The forth has a sweet almost intoxicating scent. It grows in full shade and is at least 14' tall/wide. I just took more pictures of this and will post them after editing them. The last two pictures are the same type plant. Sort of a before and after thing. More pictures of the bush-like plant growing in the shade of oak trees, The scent is sweet like honeysuckle and almost perfume-like. It's a scent that draws you to it and you don't want to leave.

Nice pictures!
Second and third are a Yarrow. The sweet smelling bush might be Ligustrum. Fifth and sixth are green milkweed, Asclepias viridis. |

Salt this looks like a devils snuff box aka puff ball.
An edible mushroom if collected before the insides become yellowish. It should dry out and have a hole where spores come out if squeezed or stepped on. Last edited by Worth1; April 22, 2017 at 07:09 PM. |

There are several kinds.
Very common in the hardwood forests of the Ozarks and here if it rains a lot. Nothing like those monsters I saw there growing up though. Worth |

I went out to see that odd mushroom I took a picture of for a different thread - I didn't see it, but I did get a few flower pictures along the way. I added the mushroom (Scleroderma Texense) picture at the end. The other thread is here http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=44690
