Gardeneer you have a good start going but I must give you a word of caution about planting out on March 15th. I'm in La and that's my plan too but it really depends on the ground temps.

Thank for the reminder.
From what I have heard, our sandy soil warms up pretty fast.
But I will check soil temperature before plant out. Over 55 F at a depth of about 8 to 10 inch should be fine. Our average March temperatures are 40F low and 66F high.

Thanks, Mark. Just trying to get a head start. Probably Charley has a more favorable climate than I have.

BEYOND GERMINATING:
My first round of seedlings are coming along slowly nut surely.
Because I have plenty of time until plant out, I grow them at cooler temperatures, to stay manageable under light.

Peppers and eggplants are still in the starting cells.

Nice seedlings , BV.
You have lots of potting up to do. I think some of them are ready.
Good luck !

Like an assembly line Van and I bet that DE works great for separating those dense babies.

The first two micros have raised their heads! Aztec (the yellow micro dwarf kind, not the red variety) and a cross from MMMM.
Time to plan out the rest of my list - I might add a few more red ones this year than previously, so the neighbors will be relieved the finally see some 'proper tomatoes' instead of all these exotic colors and patterns..

Thanks Ricky. It is very easy but tbh I like potting mix better only because I don't have to fertilize them. I planted almost 800 seeds yesterday. My competition at market has 7 varieties. I will have 50. Hope it's worth the effort, which is considerable.

Last year, following the recommendations of the vendor from which I got my seeds, I think I started mine way too late, around the end of March (27th-29th). I used various kinds of containers, but small yoghurt plastic cups worked the best for me so I'm going to stick with those.
This year I'm planning on starting my seeds a couple of weeks earlier. That means I have one last month of suffering and looking at your gorgeous pics and seedlings
