An indeterminate. Well now you have my attention! Hopefully we will be finding this tomato in the Availabe For Trade section sometime soon. I am sure that you can find a few here that would like to grow it.

Not sure what my "standing in line" number is, but I'm in line waiting for the possibility of getting some seeds. These great heirlooms must be saved for future generations.

I'm in zone 6B and harvested my first Grandpa' Whites last week from plants that went in the ground Mid-May. We did have record heat in June so fruit set was delayed by at least 3 weeks.

And the way I see it is that since I generously and with heartfelt feelings suggested you might want to correcte your original description of it to from det to indet making it more desirable to most, that I move to #1 on the list to receive seeds.

Don't I?

Of course you're #1, right Ted?

I have 2 tomatoes on the counter, as soon as they become sacrificial BLTs I will save seeds and post in the Trade area. But I will notify this group immediately.

Default Happiness is...

The Perfect BLT. Grandpa' White's Red Tomato, La Brea Bakery Rustic bread, thick cut bacon and Duke's Mayonnaise.

The only thing that would have made it better would be Nueske's, the Rolls Royce of Bacon.

so you in GA also know of the excellence of the Nueske products, based in WI?

Lordy, lordy,I just got another shipment last week and while I don't have that invoice, well yes I do,it's still in my walker basket,I tend to order the same each time and this time it was

4# of their superb hash
I pumpkin cream cheese roll
1 carrot cake cream cheese roll
Nueske ham and wild rice soup
Nueske chicken and wild rice soup
1 large 4 flavor cheese cake
Nueske's Cream soup sampler

AND,since I qualified by spending so much money.

One free pound of triple thick sliced applewood smoked BACON.

Gotta love that place, and sometime I will also order that killer chocolate cake.I don't get all the other smoked meats and stuff since I have Freda and Martha to prepare meals for me,well really just Martha, since Freda does the gardening and other stuff around here, etc.

Go Nueskes FOREVER.

Yes,I am a type #2 diabetic as was my mother her sister and their mother.

BUT, diabetics can eat whatever they want,in moderation, whenever they want to and my diabetes is very well controlled as Dr.Carrie at the local health Center also says.I use lantus pen insulin and shoot up every evening.

So I do not buy sugar free anything,no need to and some of what's out there in just my opinion is a fad, such as gluten free which no one knew about until NovakDjokovic, the tennis player made it popular, another fad being CPak masks and another one being stomach banding which has the bariatric surgeons raking in money..

You are very lucky I don't list what I have sent to me by Krauses on Central Ave in Albany,or what I get from King Arthur Flour in VT for eating chocolate.

And here I am at 77,still not in heaven, doing OK above the neck, eyes work, ears work, brain works most of the time but let's not discuss below the neck which is why I'm now homebound.

Oh yes! We know Nueske's all too well.

Then again, we also know Oscar's Smokehouse in Warrensburg, NY! (Cheater alert - husband is from Waterford, in Saratoga County )

So you know that Oscar's burned down a few years ago and I still remember seeing on theTV the owners standing by the fire trucks saying they would completely rebuild it,and they did.

Waterford? Yes,I know it well, the earliest name was Half Moon and up rte 9 there is still a place called Half Moon.

So did your husband learn this song when he was in school?I know I did as did almost every school kid I knew

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/bruce...eriecanal.html

And I'm sure your husband was also brought up on Hellmen's mayonaise, we in the north don't use Duke's,not even carried by the grocery stores.

So where am I from to know these places?I was raised just a few miles north of Albany in a place called Loudonville.

Rte 9 goes from way south in NYS to the Canadian border, thru Loudonville,Latham, across the Mohawk River on that bridge to points north.

When I was in College I drove the NYS thruway from W NYS back home for holidays, etc.which paralled the Mohawk River, so I pretty much knew all that was there

from Albany to Buffalo, as the song goes.

Carolyn, who now lives a couple of miles from the VT border and loves it here and plans to stay as long as she can
