It's official, Sungold F1 this year. Wasn't the first to set fruit, but was the first to ripen.

Unfortunately, my season is winding down. It has been the craziest season, plants that did well last year hardly produced anything and most tomatoes on all plants seemed to ripen at the same time. All that's left, are some County Agents

In my Z5 garden I've just gotten my first fruit set, still nothing ripe. But Cherokee Purple was first to set, beating even the cherries.

The pain may continue for a while. One of my early varieties is Bloody Butcher and is supposed to be potato leaf but is regular leaf instead. Whatever it is, there is no way the marble size fruits are going to be anywhere close to the maturity date of Bloody Butcher. Well I better start counting on my Sungold as that seems to be ripening first for a lot of folks.

Matina, though that was started much earlier than the rest of my tomatoes because I am so impatient. Actually, when we were in Florida, a stray tomato seed came up in one of the planters. I saved the plant, and it bore many small brownish red currant sized tomatoes. We have been eating them for 3 months already. I put the plant in ground a few weeks ago, and it is growning like crazy.

Sunday, we picked our first Tasmanian Chocolate, which was a real surprise for me. Boy, was that yummy.

I just picked a Dwarf Arctic Rose today. Our last frost date here is May 21st, but I put this plant out in a 5 gallon SIP at the middle of April, and hauled it into the garage at night. My first ripe tomato came at the beginning of August last year, so this is progress!

I thought it tasted fantastic, fairly sweet, although my opinion might be slightly skewed by the lack of good tomatoes for the last 9 months! Weighed in at 8.55 oz.

I picked three 4th of July hybrids today along with one Marglobe. It looks as though some of my Rutgers will be coming in by the weekend.
