I worked there for a while. Not a fan of Peter Page at all.

Ha! Out of all the places in WNY, you actually worked there. I did not know Peter. I knew his father and I liked him. He seemed like a nice older guy. I could be wrong though!

Mojo,
So nice to see all those babies!

I have been told by S and R that I should plan on getting my babies back from them this week b/c they are ready for repotting. Man they grow up fast! I have issued a general call for clean gallon jugs from my students (2 pts per jug, limit 2 jugs/person, offer good this week only towards Exam One). Must now debate soil mix for potting up. Quietly encouraging broccoli and cauliflower in beds to hurry up and get it done so I can start amending process (planning on about 200 lbs of horse manure per bed, aged several weeks topside before tilling under; plus superphosphate and a few other things [last soil test showed things were SERIOUSLY depleted across the board])

Photos to follow, hopefully soon.

Oh they get so big so quickly.... The laggards in the photo (look closely towards the back) are Volcano peppers thrown into last year's Totally Tomatoes order as a freebie; I am told this morning that they have finally come up.

Soon, into gallon jugs to wait until March plant-out. My call for gallon jugs from my students has been quite successful; I should have enough for all my designated spots plus some extras (I hate wasting even seedlings).

great looking plants mojo, I will plant mine this week-end. I have been sick since Christmas but I am ready to go now.
A little late may be a good thing with the weather we have had lately.

Wow, Julien you are going to have a great year. The tom plants look very healthy, I see sliced tomatoes in your future.

Thanks for compliemnts!

I just noted taht Maskotka is a very earlier variety.
Last year, i grw an other "knows" variety, Stupice. Between the day i snow and the first flower bud: 40 days.
So Maskotka is more erliar than Stupice over 13 days. Amaizing!
