This is first Chocolate Stripe, 11.5 ounces. Not as sweet as GGWT. Great for sandwiches, juicy and beautiful inside and out.
I planted it as a small seedling (3 inches) on May 25, much later than most.

I hope so. Not afraid of simple spiders, just poisonous.

Nice tomatoes and pictures Ella. What method do you use to dry your tomatoes? Is that a special pan/tray or mat with vents?? I have an older model food dehydrator with trays that I use to dehydrate tomatoes and fruit. I have not used it in a couple years.

Hi, Ginny.
I found on one of the websites that you have to keep tomato at 135 F for 8-12 hours to make chips. I had to keep it longer. My dehydrator has mats with small holes in it.
We often dry fish and sometimes cured pork. That was first time for tomatoes.

Thank you Ella! That sounds interesting. Do you make it into fish jerky?

Orange Russian 117 (bi, heart) was planted late and small plant. First one for me. Everyone was raving about it, had to try it.
Garden boy thank you for the seeds.

Brandywine from Croatia was planted at the same time, but my first fruit from it was stolen right off the vine by a squirrel today. It was trying to take it to its home. Luckily I just came back from work and was able to fight it off. GRRR... Will not post picture.

The squirrels did not bother me for some times. My neighbor has grapes ripening that attracted them, so they are back.

You do not know the best of it. As I was chasing that squirrel the other one was running along side fence. I checked what she was doing there after I got my Brandywine from Croatia back. She was sampling Sweet Sue. It was just getting light colored, still pale green. That was more than 10 ounces tomato. She left it there. I figured it was safe because it was not good enough yet. As I finish typing my previous post I wanted to check on the damage made to that tomato. You guessed it right, it was GONE! How can that relatively small animal cary it away. No sign of it at all.
