Akers WV was a no show so Campbells 1327 is in.

I'm also adding Wes, plus another Sarnowski's Polish Plum, and another Biltmore, for a total of 23 now. I'm also starting to regret not starting Cherokee Purple this year!

But, what I need to do more than anything is find homes for the 9 spares left before I decide to add them too.

There are some Russian/Ukrainian varieties that may be transcribed differently into English.

Everything is potted now and I need to give away a lot of seedlings because my little greenhouse is already crowded, but it would be too risky to plant outside now. Some plants have their first blossoms, so it's urgent to find the final place for them.

Btw, I had rather bad germination on those varieties with antho - is it a common problem or my mistake? Example: Helsing ★★★★★★★★ Blues: 12 seeds - 1 seedling, same place, same starting mix like the other varieties. clara

Ciao MrBig46,
here is a link that explains what happened to the san marzano tomato.
http://www.sanmarzanotomatoes.org
To sum, it was "industrialized" and scientists actually went back and did DNA tests to find the original strain..of which two were identified. I work on an experimental farm in Parma (food valley), an area rich in tomato production, among other fruit, vegetables, etc etc.... and our farm has these "original strains".

My list for the year:
Black Krim
Japanese Black Trifele
Kellogs Breakfast
Sioux
Moonglow
Red Zebra
Super Sweet 100
Beauty F5(dwarf project)
and a mystery tomato(was supposed to be a Japanese Black Trifele but came up regular leaf instead of potato leaf)

I had a couple of other varieties, but I ran out of room and gave those to a friend.

Ciao Antichevarietta
The planting of tomatoes is my hobby. I like some OP italian varietes of tomatoes (San Marzanas, Principe Borghese, Costolluto G and F, Grapoli d´Inverno, Cieligino di pachino etc.). I grow SM 3, SM Gigante, Scatolone. Which variet is for me most delicious that I gauge myself. San Marzano 2 do not fail me now. But this thred is about something else.
I enjoy, that you will write, which italians varietes of tomatoes you are planting (on this thread ) and you will write something interesting about italians tomatoes (on others threads).
A nice day Vladimír

actually, where i work, we split responsibilities...i manage tomatoes from everywhere but Italy and the farm covers the exisiting italian varieties as they are not familiar with other heirlooms.

You may be interested in Kiss The Sky. Purple Haze that's been de-hybridized (if that's the word!) by Tatiana. Available to buy from her.

I have many others waiting to be planted in the ground or pots but here is the list that were planted in our Patriotic Themed (plus) Diabetic Research Study Garden: One of each kind in this bed.

Opps, there are 2 of Campbell 146, but I will remove one and replace it with Monkey ★★★, the chocolate cherry will be replaced with Snow White, or Green Zebra or Georgia Green, one of the green when ripe variety. I culled 4th of July just 2 days after planting as it looked diseased. It is gone gone gone.

1. 4th of July
2. Abe Lincoln
3. Alice Roosevelt
4. Aunt Lou's Underground Railroad
5. Berkeley Tie Dye Pink
6. Big White Pink Stripes
7. Blueberry
8. Brave General
9. Bread and Salt
10. Camp Joy
11. Campbell 146
12. Campbell 146
13. Chocolate Cherry
14. Cow's Tit
15. Dwarf Japanese
16. Federle
17. Fireball
18. Fireworks II
19. Gold Metal
20. Gold Stripes
21. Grace Lanhman's Pink
22. Hays
23. Hospital
24. Jeff Davis
25. Legend
26. Marianna's Peace
27. Strawberry Margarita
28. Sun Gold
29. Taps
30. White Queen

Hoping for lots of production this year as we have a larger bed, more knowledge and experience like not planting too close together and start the pruning asap. Plus I'm a victim of tomato addiction. That helps too.
