The first sentence I quoted - I do understand that Worth.

I think your idea of spraying something naturally scented/perfumed watered down is a good idea, but maybe on the supports or areas around it - not on the plant. Another idea is pouring some orange soda in a dish. European honeybees swarm our recycle bags. I have put out cans of partially full orange soda and the honeybees love it.

Speaking of honeybees, there was a little blurb on the radio today. Seems the bees are doing fairly well this year. They're still declining, but not as fast as in previous years.

Came home to two more baby okra pods.
The first one is growing.
Not one of these critters opened a bloom at least in the daylight.
All of the transplants are doing well too as well as everything else.

Congratulations Worth, you now have triplets! Are you handing out cigars to your neighbors

I love okra but now only grow in containers. Thinking I would need a ginormous one to successfully grow okra. More like a raised bed of sorts. Maybe next year.

Worse than that, now I have more cropping up I didn't even see and a bloom is opening.
Starting to feel like Old Mother Hubbard.

Hopefully I will be overran with okra soon.
You cant have too much okra.

I have grown okra just couple of times before. I remember they had nice big Hollyhock looking flowers. Right now mine have lots of buds and growing like rocket. So far all 3 varieties look no different. I can't wait to see the flowers.

I'm glad y'all posted here - it reminded me of the okra I saw out in our gardens today. Apparently, I have vampire okra too. No blooms on plants not even a foot tall, but there's what looks like tiny little okra trying to happen.

Most probably those "tiny littles " are buds, not actual fruits.

I'm afraid this post is going to sound like a rant but I dont mean for it to.
The lady that lives on the other side of my drive where the containers are has a daughter in law.
She can stand her nor can I.
In my opinion she is a big rude cow.
One time she reached down without asking as was about to pick one of my tomatoes.
I jumped her out.
Anther time when we first moved here she kicked one of my cats for no reason.

When I put in all of the soil between my drive and the neighbor lady's drive she ticked me off.

I had taken line levels and string and made a berm so the water would run in the direction I wanted it to.
She came flying up turned into the drive swung wide and wiped out mu berm and tore up all of my dirt work.
This was while is was raining and everything was soggy.
Big tire ruts down the center between both driveways.
At the spot where I have my containers she was always backing into the wet soil and messing it up.
There is no reason for this she just doesn't give a dam about anyone but her and too stupid to be vindictive.

Well she doesn't come over often but now I have all of those containers in the middle and she cant back into the mud anymore.

I am about to go outside and make it even worse.

Combination clothes line and general hang all for vines.
The ribbons are up so the folks next door get used to the line being there.
I am sick of paying electric for something that can be free.

I hang my wet clothes up inside, on curtain rods, and on an old bed frame I have leaning against a wall. I haven't used a dryer in years.

We use clothes lines all the time. I wash on Sunday and Thursday. We live out in the middle of nowhere, so our clothesline isn't bothering anyone. I remember when a lot of people had clotheslines in town. You don't see that much anymore.

Beg my pardon but some city people in general have gotten too uppity.

My wife's mother was one of them.
One time she was gone and the AC broke down and I had the windows open.'
She had a cow when she came in and said it looked like white trash was living there.
She closed the windows and suffered for a few day until she could get the AC fixed.
