Missing seed racks - Page 2

Both of our Walmart stores have had very large Burpee seed racks set up for over a month. Our Home Depot had a huge Burpee seed rack - one of the largest I've ever seen.

I'm near Pittsburgh, PA and I have the same situation as Cecil. Only one small Burpee seed rack at Wmart and very few tomato varieties to pick from. The local Home Depot has more seed racks but not a lot of tomatoes. I'm not in the market for seeds anyway as I have so many varieties now I won't live long enough to try them all. The more varieties you get, the harder it is to decide what to plant every year.

I will just add that even the biggest racks of seeds still only offer a handful of tomato varieties -- Beefmaster, Big Boy, Brandywine, Early Girl, Roma, Sweet 100, Sweet Million, Rutgers Select, Jet Star, etc. and sometimes that bizarre Heirloom Collection from Burpee.

I'm so glad I'm not dependent upon seed racks for tomato varieties. And anyway, the seed racks come out a month too late for starting seeds for Tomatoes and Peppers and 4-5 months too late for starting Brassicas (Cauliflower, Broccoli, etc.). They do have Brussels Sprouts in 6 packs but I think it's too late.

The one thing that tempts me on those seed racks are the carrot and beet seed tapes, as well as yellow wax bean choices. Don't tell my Dragon Tongue beans I'm ogling the yellow wax beans though -- they might get jealous.

the kmart store i work at has a burpee seed display. i have only given it a cursory look though. i've already spent around $100.00 on seeds this year between seeds from italy, sandhill preservation, and evergreen seeds. not really anything else i have to buy. ah, lets just take another look.

Well, whatcha know, the Burpee Seeds showed up this afternoon. It took forever to get that thing together

Had a good variety, but no Portrhouse. Almost bought some Red Lightning.

Wal-marts in Iowa have Burpee seeds as of two weeks ago.
