That is a nice fish, never caught a real big cat but I have caught sturgeon over 100 lbs. and have seen larger caught. So many fish, so little time.
Hunt often is also what I like to do. By the way, I don't think 1500-2000 seedlings should be considered a hobby, your obsessed and obviously in the right place. Brad... |

Male fish are easy to tell apart from females...just give each fish a shake...if it rattles, it's a male!
My grow table is visible from the street in front of our house. We're always afraid the DEA is going to bust in thinking we're growing something besides tomatoes and peppers!

Yeah, I was worried about that a little myself last year. I guess they figure if you’re bold enough to start plants in plain sight then you couldn’t be up to anything shady. We live in a cookie cutter neighborhood and our garage was lit up like a Christmas tree last Spring. I guess the pile of tomato stakes and support poles in the back yard give me a pretty good cover!
Kimpossible, It’s not this easy with every fish species but with brown trout only the males develop a “hook jaw” when they get bigger. Other signs are a hump back and more vivid coloration than their female counterparts but these characteristics are not as obvious as the jaw structure. RIK

Hee hee hee
I WISH the narc unit would bust in to see what I'm growing! I'd have a great time boring them with all the details about my varieties, seed starting schedule, garden plans, etc etc etc. They would run for the hills in no time flat! Jennifer |

Welcome! My DH saw your bluecat and immediately started pricing fishing trips to the midwest. Largest he's caught is a 40" Northern Pike.
Every spring just after I fire up the light stands in the garage I get a few of Kempsville's Finest making a nightly drive by to check things out. They must think I must be the dumbest "illegal plant" grower around as my garage has a whole panel of uncovered windows and all the plants are visible from the driveway! This is my 6th season of seed starting at this location, I live just 4 blocks from the Precinct station, so you'd think they'd know what's going on by now. Actually, I think I did see a few of them at the neighborhood plant sale last year so they must be checking on what varieties I am growing....8) (yeah that's it).

That's not really a LARGE fish for here, just a decent one. If he wants a really interesting fishing trip, have him come down for paddlefish snagging season...#100-130 fish are caught each year!
Now to keep things on focus...here's a pic of the model of my new greenhouse I built last fall. I'll get a pic of mine up as soon as I remember to. Got a tremendous deal on it on craigslist and this is my first time ever using a "real greenhouse for seedlings. I have the automatic window vent openers installed, but am debating on installing the vent fan. Are these fans really necessary?

Check the operation of the vents with a remote thermometer and see their operating range. They are not that reliable. dcarch

Good idea...they are opening up while I'm at work, and close down as the sun goes down each evening.

Huntsoften - a big welcome to tville. By all means, come on up to Lincoln for the Midwest Tomato Fest. We are thinking about mid August - as always weather is a giant factor in midwest gardening. We have some nice stores here, etc., the Children's Zoo is wonderful and right across from the tomato fest. Piegirl
