What was the deal on the corn gluten Worth?. Is it bad news?. I have to avoid gluten simply because it keeps me up all night and longer. . Jimbo

Works as a pre emergent.
From what I have read it needs to be around 60% gluten.
The cornmeal didn't hurt my stuff at all and I have basil coming up.

Here my fine feathered friends you will see various plants and experiments going on.
You will see a rare baby ghost and the 2X4 the fat one balances on to cruise the center of the raised beds.
A few Kentucky wonder watermelon and flying saucer squash.
Plus a bonus shot of the soon to be hopefully sweet potato jungle.
Many other plants too.

I have plenty of it brother.
The sweat is pouring off of me right now.
Free sauna.
Thanks.

The ghost peppers pulled the trigger today and went into overdrive.
Don't ask me how I know but I am a very observant person I could see it when I got home.

When I first read about the Ghost Pepper producing 200 to 400 peppers and more I thought it was hog wash.
Now that I see all of the blooms forming I have no doubt that they can.
Yes they have started to grow big time.
In the last pictuer of them the two plants on the right are now just touching each other and the pale one is greening up.
Something came along and bit one of the cucumber plants and it is now flopped over and wilted but is the reason I over planted anyway.

They were once the hottest pepper on earth then something else came along.
I have never had one on its own only in weakened down sauce like Daves Insanity ghost pepper sauce and Mrs Renfro's Ghost pepper salsa.
My intention is to ferment some and send sauce to my evil pepper loving friend in Longmont Colorado.
(NOT) diluted.
I told him what I was up to and he is looking forward to it.
Me too.

This morning I got up at four went outside and it was like being in a hot clothes drier.
I went back to bed got up at around 7:30 and it had cooled off big time.
From the time I mentioned the peppers almost touching each other early this morning they were about 3/4 of an inch apart.
I just checked again and low and behold they grew 3/4 of and inch and are touching each other.

The flavor of Bhut Jolokia is distinctly berry-like. Then the heat hits you and you forget your name. One of my favorite peppers for flavor. I make a mean strawberry ghost jam.

And really, Worth, I don't think you'd find them all that hot. The trick is to suppress the (pain == damage) instinct, and you know how to do that. But for goo'ness sake, don't eat one whole without practice first.

---

PBS here is running a short series called, apparently, Food: [some subtitle] about how we experience food and why it affects us like it does. The first ep included a long segment about how capsaicin works on the pain receptors and what affect that has on the brain. See if you can find it. Our station here (kera.org) has a lot of their broadcast programs available on demand.

My wife bought the ghost salsa for us/me years ago for our annual tamale and tortilla chip eating on Christmas eve.
I was eating it lie a dip and she was barely putting the wee pointy end of the chip on the stuff.
Boo Boo the boxer pit mix and I had to finish it.
My mouth was so on fire I couldn't taste the tamales and I couldn't drink mass quantities of beer because we were at someone elses house.
That was it for me I told my wife from now on it will be at my house not someone elses house.
I want to be able to drink mass quantities beer and not worry about being pulled over on Christmas eve.

Milk. Milk suppresses it. Beer just makes you so you don't care. (Which come to think of it is kinda the point. Say what?)

I dont want to suppress it I want the alcohol buzz along with the opiate like endorphin buzz.
That's right you said it and I said it lets be honest.
If you can get past the pain part and meditate it is total euphoria big time, you just cant be a sissy..

Now that I think of it, someone might be helped going through heroin withdrawals by spraying them in the face with pepper spray.
