After years of growing tomatoes I've zeroed in on the taste/flavor that appeals to me and the benefit of that is now I can grown less varieties. I still am tempted to try a new one, hense the addition of, Pineapple, hearing all the praise about it I have no choice.

Black From Tula

Goose Creek (mainstay of the garden)

Pruden's Purple

Tegucigalpa

Marianna's Peace

Pineapple (new this year)

Wishing everyone much success and great harvest!

Y'all are a bad bad influence on me. With the help of Tomatvillians, I realized I had more space in my dandy new community garden plot (https://handcraftedwithaltitude.wordpress.com/). Combined with all the great info & lists of varieties here, that space has been filled with more tomatoes.

Brandywine OTV - testing container/deck vs. plot
Costoluto Fiorentino - coolness factor + good reviews
Reistomate - cool tomato for my 5 year old neighbor
Harmony F1 - testing to replace the discontinued Annelise
Mountain Magic - testing to replace the discontinued Annelise
Cuostralee - seeds graciously sent to me by fellow Tomatovillian marc_groleau
Virginia Sweets - testing container/deck vs. plot
Cosmounaught Volkov - testing container/deck vs. plot

I suspect the Virginia Sweets & Cosmounaught Volkov may be happier in the ground. They did okay on the deck in sub-irrigated planters I made last year, but can't hurt to experiment. I will also provide them more shade on the deck this year, perhaps with some light row cover.

Is 23 plants too many for 1 person?

The "worst" part of being here on Tomatoville is finding all kinds of interesting varieties to try. My wish list for next year includes:

Amazon Chocolate
Ananas Bleue
Black Ruffles
Blonde Boar
Carbon - Black variety
Copia
Dark Galaxy
Don's Double Delight
Fleur de Reagir
Japanese Black Trifelle
Lover's Lunch
Norwood Meiners
Ozark Sunrise
Ozark Sunset
Solar Flare
Sunrise Bumblebee
Vernissage Pink

Save me from myself!!

Cosmonaut Volkov (red)(full) - 2 plants
Brandwine OTV*(red)(full) - 1 plant
Virginia Sweets (red/yellow)(full) - 3 plants
Annelise F1 Hybrid (red)(saladette) (aka 'the flavor bombs') - 2 plants. A favorite at home and always the first to go at the office. Sadly the last of my seeds, and has been discontinued
Indigo Rose* (indigo)(saladette) - 1 plant
Peacevine (red)(cherry) - 1 plant
Indigo Cherry Drops* (indigo)(cherry) - 1 plant
Sungold (yellow)(cherry) - 1 plant
Matt's Wild (red)(tiny) - 1 plant. The favorite of my 4 year old neighbor - he calls them 'candy'
Snow White* (white)(cherry) - 2 plants

Deck (self-watering bins):
Beans - Haricot Vert Bush Bean, Royal Burgundy Bush Bean*, Gold Rush Yellow Wax Bush Bean*
Cucumbers - Manny F1 Hybrid, Silver Slicers
Greens - 6 kinds of lettuce (red & green), 2 kale (red & green), mustards, spinach
Sweet Peppers - Feher Ozon, Bangles*

Community Garden plot:
Beans - Haricot Vert Bush Bean, Royal Burgundy Bush Bean*, Gold Rush Yellow Wax Bush Bean*
Broccoli - De Cicco*
Brussels Sprouts - Doric F1 Hybrid*
Carrots - Scarlet Nantes*, White Satin F1 Hybrid*, Yellowstone*, Dragon*
Cauliflower - Janvel F1 Hybrid*
Cucumbers - Manny F1 Hybrid, Silver Slicers
Melons - Sivan F1 Hybrid*, Magnifienza F1 Hybrid*
Peas - Dwarf Grey Sugar Snow Pea
Radishes - Celesta Radish, White Beauty Radish *
Squash - Success PM Straightneck Yellow*, Benning's Green Tint Patty Pan*, Sunburst Yellow Patty Pan*
Watermelon - Sugar Baby*, Moon & Stars*

It's all probably a bit much to grow for myself, but I enjoy feeding my neighbors and friends.

It'll be a welcome revenge around here!

I'm still a "newbie" compared to some, but even I have obtained enough seeds since joining to plant all new to me varieties for the next nine years. And that doesn't include the 40 or so varieties I probably won't grow that I need to find homes for some day.

Will this stop me from joining next year's seed swap? Heck no!

Am I too late to play? I'm in zone 3b now so I start my maters much later than some of you folks:

Andrina Dwarf
Aunt Ruby's German Green
Azoychka
Beauty King
Black Sea Man
Clear Pink Early
County Agent
Cuor di Bue
DaCosta's Portuguese
Dingwall Scotty
Don Juan
Gayla's Blue Ribbed
Harbinger
Jack White
Japanese Black Trifele
Kotlas
Lyana
Manitoba
Mountain Princess
Mr. Fumarole
Pink Accordion
Platillo
Principe Borghese
Pruden's Purple
Purple Russian
Red Robin
Rozovyi Izumnyi
Rose
Ruby Treasure
Tiny Tim
Tlacolula Ribbed
Uncle Charlie's Giant Italian Pear
Vorlon
Weissbehaarte
Yellow Ruffled

These two are natural crosses I discovered in the garden last year so I'm growing them out to stabilize (hence the boring names):
PSB-1
PSB-3

Nice list! Not sure if you've grown them all before but a little info on my experience with some of them:

Blue Beauty- While I found them to be gorgeous, I wasn't impressed with their flavor.

Casady's folly- Another beautiful variety, but I found them to be very bland. Large yielder though.

Copia- Wasn't impressed with this variety.. Found them to be bland - I have a sweet tooth and of course taste is subjective lol..

PorkChop- One of my favorites last year! Very tasty tomato, and vibrant almost florescent in color. Doing a couple more this year in the hoop house. Unfortunately septoria got the best of it last year and I only harvested a dozen or so.

Another worth mentioning, although I don't see you growing it is Orange Banana.. Wonderful yield of deliciously sweet fruit.

My list:

Ananas Noire
Black Cherry
Blue Gold Cherry
Brandywine (yellow)
Cherokee Purple
Chocolate Cherry
German Red Strawberry
Isis Candy Cherry
Jetstar (not heirloom I knowwww.. lol just a back up)
Money Maker
Orange Banana
Pork Chop
Rienstraube
San Marzano (Of course, I'm Italian! haha)

Good luck ladies and gentlemen.. Wishing everyone an enjoyable and prosperous season!

Here I go; first time with container growing. After reading many ideas and methods, I've done the following: got free 5 gal. Buckets from Chick-Fil-A and drilled 8 or 9 holes around the bottom and put screen wire over them? I used Sphagnum Peat Moss, Potting Mix, Mushroom Compost, Cow manure compost, Perlite, Epsom Salts, and Hydrated Lime(Had it on hand) Have the pH at 6.8 to 7.0. The plants are doing good on my back porch getting intermittent sun and will be set in place when safe to do so. It is only 16 plants and will be compared with garden grown ones. Wish me
luck.

There still may be hope for you, as you haven't mentioned wish lists for peppers, beans, peas, melons, cukes, etc...etc...

As for revenge, around here that's like throwing a boomerang.

I've used, "Jetstar", as a backup many years, and it's a great one, indeed! The taste is superb for a hybrid I think may heirloom lovers have much respect for this wonderful tomato.
