Thank you, Carriehelen. I was not being patient enough with this one. I think I picked it too soon. It was looking so good. For few days I was watching it changing its color very slowly, or at least it felt like to me.
Marsha, I am not sure its ripe yet. I have to ask you for advice. Does it have to be soft like most of the black tomatoes?

So far I've harvested nearly 2 dozen grape toms and just picked my first my first main crop, woohoo! It was a Cherokee Purple. I have several more Cherokee Purples in various stages of ripening, as well as the Opalka in the first stage of ripening. In addition I have large, green fruits on the Crnkovic Gold, Brandywine Sudduths, and Neves Azorean Red but none appear to turning yet.

Dan, that is the start of the season for you. Love CP too. What kind of grape tomatoes you have? This is Pioneer F1. Setts so well. My seeds are old since I usually grow one or two of them.

Cambuci pepper setting. I procrastinated and did not start seeds early.
Seeds are from Tania. They are one of her favorite. She lists them as sweet.

Ok, tasting...
Black tomato is Bear Creek. Pink is Talavera Native. I have picked almost 3 pounds of Bear Creek already and it is only July 13. First tomato I gave to my son, so did not taste it. Therefore I am tasting the one that was picked later. I let it sit on the countertop for a couple of days. Boy, it has that great black tomato taste. I am writing after eating a slice and thinking about the rest of it waiting for me out there. Ok, I am taking a break... mmm... another break...done Talavera Native is loaded (I got tired counting them) with this small (about 3 ounces) tomatoes. It looks like a small aggressor, pushing all other plants. It is not tall at all. Great for containers, definitely. Perfect look too. Good complex taste. Next one I have to let ripen a bit more. I may try fermenting them, once I get more.

Marsha's favorite heart: Grightmire's Pride.
Marsha, you sure know how to pick your fave. To me it is by far testiest pink heart. The taste lingers in your mouth. ... yes, I am taking a break...mmm, so good...mmm. No need for a salt. It will be in my garden next year, definitely. Thank you, Marsha.
