Thanks so much for this thread, Worth, I have learned some interesting things!
I have two questions: were the little guys that got special treatment about a week above ground when you started fertilizing? I had a hard time telling because I can't figure out how to make the post dates show.
Second question, where do you get that kind of can opener?

Thank you,
erin.

I think the were about a week it was after the first true leaves.
The can opener I think I bought at Wall-Mart years ago.
I have too many can openers and not one of them runs off of electricity.
Two if not three of my Swing Aways are from the Pre-China Period.

The can opener you are asking about is great you can open a can and put the lid back on if you dont use everything.
I think just about any store sells them now.

Any good quality manual can opener will do.
You can run it twice to smooth out the cut better.

I've seen those can openers and like the concept. I've wondered about if they can cut the bottom off of can that looks like these

They look gorgeous, Worth. Are you glad you started from seeds this year?

They look amazing! I am glad to see that you are having fun starting your own plants again. It really makes you far more intimate with them as opposed to those that you bought from a store.

Steve I hope the first of March.
Some how I managed to get all of the tomato plants and some peppers under the lights.
Now all I have outside are pepper plants.
