Yeah but what's that grey stuff in the plate? Looks like the head of the whatsit but not a yummy colour.
It's too bad this one left the girls out completely.
Wonder what's with the two unplucked fowls hanging in the right hand corner... I assume with work like this that every detail is somehow symbolic.

Notice in almost all of the old paintings they showed people of European heritage.
On some program there was a discussion of the Last Supper by Da Vinci.
It was about the 7th person from the left being a woman Mary Magdalene.
If so then Judas has already left as was instructed, as there are 13 people in the painting.
The real fact is this painting was done 1500 years after the fact but yet people see it like a photograph of the real event.
My point is I think Mary was there and the paintings were done at a time where male domination of society had taken over.

The woman's role back then was very important and even to this day Jewish lineage is carried on by women not the men.
Which brings us to mitochondrial DNA carried on solely by women not men.
Interesting.

Beards.
Notice in many of the paintings there are no beards on some of the men.
At this time and even now these folks have some sort of beard.
Shaving was a Roman thing at the time.

As was mentioned before by Cole.
Chairs.
I dont think anyone was sitting on any kind of chair.
They would have reclined on mats and cushions as was the custom in that area of the world and in other places.
Some of the paintings have place settings which would not have been.

Our history is riddled with artists conceptions of an event that has skewed our conception of the event.
Washington crossing the Delaware is but one.
That flag didn't exist at the time along with other inaccuracies.

Washington crossing the Delaware

Which was a success because the opposing army was most Hessians, who were German. And Germans like beer. They partied for Christmas, and Washington timed his attack for when they would be the most hung over.

His tactical brilliance gets lost over time with the simplifying of history. There was obviously a lot more to it than just looking cool in a row boat.

Hessians with Hangovers would make a great painting.

It is a myth that the Hessian's were drunk or hung over.
It is also a myth that Washington planned the attack when he did.
He crossed when he could get his men together and it was hours late.
The Hessian's were prepared for an attack at night but as dawn started to break they let their guard down.
The pictuer was painted by a German to inspire the revolutions of 1848 in his home land.
Here is more information.

That's funny. I was actually taught that in 8th grade history class, and never thought to look it up.

I must have gotten this from my mother's Mediterranean side of the family.
Dryer on low for 40 minutes.

A world hopping pooch. Belongs to my cousin, from a branch of the family that is involved in the airline industry, so this one hops all over the place.

This one is a very good pooch. Generous spirit.

Who knows this stupid stuff might come in useful some day.
With a lathe and drill press you can connect PVC with a hole new look.
No more ugly fittings.
The possibilities are endless.

You wouldn't even need Teflon tape. I like that idea.

I have quest fittings in my house - I sure would like to change that. Quest fittings are not cheap.

Salt anytime you take the skill and the trade out of doing something the price goes up sky high.
Look at the difference in cost to sweat copper and use those crazy fittings that cost a ton of money.

We proudly interrupt today's regularly scheduled activities to announce the rescuing of yet another snake from the next door ladies sticky traps.
It was about 4 foot long and was the beloved Coachwhip snake.

I used my trusty mineral oil to get the poor thing loose.
It looked looked this snake.
