Absolutely. I hope to have enough ripe peppers for the whole Pack to try.

BTW, all of the peppers we tried were purple. They had been on the plants and full size for a while (would have to check my records). Well, the 14s had anyhow, I admittedly lost track of the 9 and 37. I mistakenly thought they had been on the plants longer, but both had a pronounced green taste especially number 37.

A friend that visited last week tried one of my #1 peppers. It was so dark purple/black and looked wicked but he said no heat at all and NOT ripe. So maybe it will heat up as it ripens.

Randy, they will all end up red in time (it does take awhile, but it will be interesting to see how the flavor/heat changes when they go red, and if they develop any sweetness). Barbee, there is indeed a chance that some will end up with no heat, if some pollen from my sweet peppers ended up in the mix at some point!

No heat would be fine with me Craig LoL
They would be beautiful whole or sliced in half lengthwise for a meat dish

I must get some photos tomorrow of the green foliage #1. It has got some neat peppers on it. Green with purple tips, green with purple stripes, etc. It's a tiny plant height wise but it's full of peppers and foliage.

I am hoping to get some fruit pics up soon - though the next two days, which will be near 100 degrees and humid, are probably not the best days for photography!

Oh okay. Yep, I'll let them turn red. I much prefer ripe peppers (as does the Pepper Pack). And yes it will be interesting to see how the heat and taste changes.

There has been quite a debate regarding the heat level of the peppers we tried. This may be of interest to Barbee too.

We wanted to try to find something consistent and available in most if not all areas for comparison in order to define the heat level of the peppers. We don't have the facilities to do a Scoville test. First we tried Taco Bell Fire sauce (several of us go there every week). That was way too mild. Next we tried Tabasco sauce which was closer, but still not as hot as the peppers. Then we tried El Yucateco (sp?) habanero sauce and that was very close. So, our best guess is that the peppers would receive around a 12,000 Scoville rating. The exceptions being the one we noted as being mild and the one that we noted as being hotter than the others. Our best guess on the hotter one would be around 15k Scoville rating (or maybe a little higher). As a result we stand by our medium to medium hot rating. Your actual mileage may vary.

Randy, that's a good idea. I will make sure to pick up a bottle of my daughter's fav hot sauce. I will have to post the name later when she reminds me. We can do a comparison between the sauce and the peppers.

Updated pics
Pepper 1 with green foliage. Peppers are a mixture of purple/black and green. A very tiny, full plant and one of my favs.

Pepper 47 has some fruit on it finally. It is a taller and skinny plant.

Pepper 8a was decapitated at plant out. Finally putting on blooms.

Pepper 8b was snapped off by a windstorm this morning

Hi Craig, I had very poor germination results, but I have a couple of your hot peppers growing and I will post pics and results soon. None of the sweet pepper (bells) germinated at all. One of yours I have marked #2 (I have your info on the seed packet) is a very small purplish plant that has grown to about 4" tall and stopped there. Not sure what advantage that would be unless somebody wanted a pepper for their windowsill(?).

The other hot pepper I have marked #1...I have three peppers growing...two look identical and the 3rd is totally different (much darker leaves) than the other two. Since this is a work in progress I assume it is a mutation of some sort. Anyway, will post pics soon.

O.T. One of your eggplant varieties has leaves bigger than elephant ears and is eclipsing many of my other plants in the GH! Incredible plant! The other (Zebra) eggplant has huge beautiful purple flowers on the plant. Very pretty!

Updates:

First photo: Hot Pepper 1, my plant 4, yellow fruit with purple tips.

Second photo: Hot Pepper #38, my plant 8. This plant is the only one of the 33 (of 36) that germinated for me which has put out NO buds. It seems to have realized that it isn't going to live up to expectations and looks to be committing suicide - note the yellowing of the upper leaves. Just as well, it was in no way an attractive plant.
