Marsha, you would be happy to know that Girl Girl's Weird Thing is getting blush and it is good size tomato. I am really having Christmas in July this year with all great varieties ripening.
Xanadu is changing color as well. But it was attacked by different deceases and bugs, few vines look ok. Hope it survived ordeal. I ordered Actinovate. Will be spraying in a day or so. Rain has to pass.

Thank you, Bipetual. I only take pictures of the good behaving once.
My countertop loads with tomatoes fast and clears fast as well. My husband takes some to work. My brother in law family loves to get a basket. My son enjoys sweet tomatoes and happy to take some with him. He always compares them to Cherokee Purple to let me know how good/or not they are. CP was the first beefsteak tomato I grew in US. How lucky was I to pick out of all the seeds I could have purchase on eBay that one. There were some other once of course that just did not impress me (Italian Giant Beefsteak tomato, Ponderosa Pink, Purple Calabash, Stupice, Beefsteak). I remember my son and my husband standing next to countertop cutting CP and devouring it quicker than they can cut it. No salt or anything else... When we share our tomatoes we get the same sparkles in peoples eyes as I remember seeing in my family for the first time eating CP.
As I was putting a big tomato into my husbands lunch bag today he asked me if he can get couple more for some guy from work for his granddaughter.

Not during the summer. You know I am a math teacher.

My critters are back eating my cucumbers. No, it is not dry here. We had lots of rain and I do have containers with plenty of water.

Sweet Sue dwarf on the left and Rosella Purple dwarf on the right. SS is about 4 feet tall...??? it does not look dwarf. I used my own seeds saved from last year. Both varieties were at least 30 feet away from the rest of the plants and next to each other. Even if they cross pollinated with each other shouldn't they still be dwarf? I have to see what the fruit is going to look like.

HCWithAltitude, nice harvest. This Pattypans squashes, if picked a bit earlier, are really good pickled. I never pickled them my self but ate quite few as a child.
I love Black from Tula as well and have grown it for many years. Big tasty tomatoes.
We had wet June and enough rain in July as well. More than needed. I have grey mold on few tomatoes, plus some other deceases. I know what you are talking about.
Enjoy your harvest.

First ever Rebell yell (pink, PL) 9.3 ounces. Great tomato, my sandwich type. Flavor is intense. It is not bland at all. Nice full body flavor.
Marsha, thanks for the seeds.

Really glad I opened this thread. Ella, I enjoyed the "walk" through your garden, it's lovely. May I ask where you are from originally? Your English is very good. I sucked at learning foreign languages in school, so I admire people who can master a second language.

Hello, Carriehelene. I am from Ukraine, Crimea. Came to the US about 24 years ago. I leaved here almost half of my life. And no my English is not perfect, far from it. I wish it was better. And, I sucked at learning German in school (grammar approach) and later in college. Luckily I did not need it. Nevertheless, that experience made me very uncomfortable about my ability learning languishes. I was petrified coming here that I would never be able to speak well enough English and therefore teach. I am a math teacher. Well, if you really need to do something in life you just do it. Here I am. Not perfect, I know. I teach in the district where 98% of the students speak Spanish. Going through my own experience of learning second (actually third, the other two are Ukrainian and Russian) language made me aware of difficulties my student have to overcome. It made me better teacher. I love my job.
