Spot on, Earl.
Nice texture and why enjoyed it as a great breakfast tomato sliced on toast, coz it held its shape and didn't turn the toast mushy. A lot fo yellows have that blush in my garden. Extra eye candy. |

I've found out that determining "ripeness" for any tomato is an art ...
We've eaten TYW under-ripe, ripe, and kindof over-ripe - but we can't complain... We love the taste no matter what "stage" they're in ... When over-ripe you can almost "spread" it on toast ... Has that creamy consistency ... But even an over-ripe TYW wasn't "mushy" like Juane Flammee (consistency was so gross to get flavor out of it for us) A quick update: it appears that the red (TYW) that popped up in my patch MAY be an isolated incident / seed mix up . The red I got and sliced open last night was completely hollow ... "quitter" in my book ~ lol I'm so very happy everyone is enjoying TYW this summer - and maybe for seasons to come ... Really, I'm glad I didn't waste anyones space ... I can't stand it when growers rave about a tomato that doesn't produce, and has sub-par flavor. Also, I love seeing eveyones pictures of TYW from gardens all over the globe! Thanks so much everyone ... ~ Tom

Well, Tom, it will be in my driveway next year...will be sure to leave a pot for it (I've been anxious to try it!).

Thanks for the explanation; sounds like most of us were growing F3 this year, and our saved seed would be F4.

Additionally, the yellow I was getting isn't that bright yellow that others got. More of a medium-pale yellow, much like Lillian's, etc. Shape: many of my fruits had a bit of a point, not extreme. But they were in the realm of what I would consider to be a beefsteak. Hope that all makes sense. |

If you can wait a bit till late summer or so...I will have seeds for you. I just put up a large container full of seeds to ferment from two of my largest TYW's. I just don't have the time now to bag up seeds...will start trading soon.

My first TYW [one above] took 70 days, 5-18 plant out to 7-27.

Spot on with dtm Earl ... I know they are really "guess-timates" ...
But yeah - rough "ideas" are cool on when they should come around ... ~ Tom

Tom, I had two plants, fruits were the same on both. Yes, I'll be growing it again next year because I thought it was very good. Also, I gave Craig some seeds at Tpalooza because I thought he should try it; so this gives him a choice of using the (probably) F3 you sent him or the F4 from my saved seed.
