Has anyone out there tried using straight worm castings in HEB or the factory EB? If so, did you use 3 cups for your strip and what were the results as far as plant health and production?

Hi, I put 3 cups of Worm Castings into my Factory EB's. I mixed it really well w/ the Dolomite. I also used 3 cups of the organic fertilizer for the fertilizer strip. I use either Sweet Earth or lately I have been using Fox Farm. I was very pleased with the results.

Nancy,
Did you have any problems with BER? Do you do any foliar feeding as well? |

Hi, I had two varieties that had trouble w/ BER. Healthkick and Roma. Other than that we were fine. No, no foliar feeding.
Last season I was experimenting w/ the Worm Castings, some boxes had it others did not. This year EVERY box got it. Nancy |

Which Fox Fertilizer did you use? I looked and saw they had the tomato and vegetable one and the fruit and flower.

Hi, I just started using the Fox Farm. Not too easy to get around here. I had to order it from the Hydroponics store. Also had to purchase it by the case.
It is Fox Farm Peace of Mind Tomato and Vegetable food 7-4-5 Nancy |

Nancy,
I have been using Fox Farms Peace of Mind Tomato fertilizer for 5 years now (my son got it at a Hydro store in New Mexico, and shipped it to me). May I ask where you found it? I am in the SF Bay area, and want to get a few boxes now to "trial" against TomatoTone in new Earthboxes I just built. thanks, Ray in Campbell, CA. ![]() |

Ray, I will be of no help. I live in Southern California. My suggestion would be to check the Fox Farm website for locations that sell their product. Call and make sure they actually have what you are looking for, if not, ask them to order it for you.
Good Luck Nancy |

One place that carries Fox Farm fertilizers:
http://www.planetnatural.com/site/se...y%20Fertilizer (Order confirming email will show if it is out-of-stock, and you can always email them first and ask. I think they are in Montana. I have bought stuff from them before. Reasonable vendor, understands value of good customer service.)
