Marsha, you must have nerves made of steel... But it's probably the best you can do instead of waiting for something you have no influence on. A bit of distraction is always good... You know you are in my thoughts, my friend!

Thank you Clara, you are in mine too. First feeders are coming through now, heavy rain and 22mph winds, then dry 10 minutes later. Power still on.

I read it was 850,000 people without power.
They cant be without power if they aren't there to be without power.

Thank you Ella.
Fearless because I don't watch the stupid TV to let it scare me with horror stories. I watch a lot of weather sites online, and the facts helped to not have fear. Floridians aren't new to this stuff, and using logic, I knew we were only going to get tropical storm force winds, and that it was moving too fast to cause any significant flooding. Besides, our building codes have always included mandatory drainage. Yes there is a place for regulations in government.
Ella Fitzgerald dog went outside this morning when the gusts were a little lower, and she had the good grace to poop almost instantly then high tailed it back in the house tail wagging like"I am such a good dog mom, where's my treat?"
The cats are hiding somewhere.

Worth, I know that you know that FP&L can tell when people are without power even without them being there because it's not flowing to their house

Maybe there should be a "KARMA Hurricane" in honor of your mostly unscathed endurance of the nasty Miss Irma.
