Introducing Chris's Greek Mama
I am pleased to introduce this tomato in the US. This well ribbed beautiful red tomato set a lot of fruit very nicely even in overly warm conditions. Texture is firm, very meaty but with a fair amount of juice, balanced flavor on the acid rather than sweet side, but so very tasty. Vigorous indeterminate vines to 7 feet and still growing.
History: Seeds sent to me by Geoffrey44, they came from his client, Chris, who got them from his Greek elderly neighbor lady. Her family has been growing them for generations. I am saving seeds, this needs to be out there. |

Quite a nice compliment Darlene. BTW- your donated 3 WBF varieties are about 3-4 inches high now. Brad does nice work! You are so generous and have made me happy.
You know I have a few with your name on them,Dee! |

Wonderful story Marsha. Thanks for sharing. I love ribbed tomatoes, and this one really looks meaty and looks like it has less seeds than other ribbed tomatoes I grow. I would love to try this tomato someday. Hint, hint ..

I like tomatoes that look naturally imperfect and not so much round looking. Pleated ones add a dimension of interest to. This is one of the reasons I like op/heirlooms.
Yours in the picture looks nice. Gardeneer |
