West Allis Half Sharp - Thanks Dutch!
I fixed some stuffed peppers this evening. I have pre-cooked Italian sausage, cooked rice, a dab of tomato paste, a bit of chopped onion, a couple eggs, mozarella and grated parmesan in these. Among them are a very large Corno di Toro, West Allis Half-Sharps and a couple large Lipstick.
Of the three peppers that I stuffed the West Allis Half Sharp was far and away the best. It has thicker walls like a bell. Up to now I have eaten them raw and they have some definate heat in them. I was a bit concerned that they might be a little too warm for my DW and that's why I put in the Lipstick. She's not a big fan of cooked peppers as it is. Cooking them mellowed them rightout and they were a perfect balance to the mild sausage. DW really enjoyed them. She told me I can "fix more of those anytime". I got these Half Sharp seed from Dutch last year. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=21640 It was a little too late to try them then so they patiently waited until this year. Anyway, I have found a new favorite stuffing pepper. A big thanks to Dutch for introducing these here at Tomatoville!
