Just got back from a long weekend, and my tomatoes have truly exploded.
I am trying Florida-weave for the first time and have been pruning and suckering to just two main stems. Now I have a mess of stems and suckers. 7 of my plants that I gauged around 4 ft before I left are now 6 ft. Spent 2 hours this morning seeing to it, and killed 4 baby hornworms to boot. Wow!! No wonder my grandmother never vacations between March and September! |

We vacationed for 8 days in August once and it was exhausting trying to get caught up when we returned home. At least the hornworms were babies- keep a close eye on that. Are you going to spray?

Getting bt today for the hornworms. Killed probably 50 last year. Procrastinated until now to get the bt.
I may never vacation again. |
